most day shift drivers won't go into cbd empty cos we dun get the $3 cbd surcharge. nite drivers got advantage here...no need thinking...straight into cbd. i dun mind paying that $0.5 or $1 even if i get a short trip. look at it this way..even if i get a $4 pax, i still collect $3 if i had paid $1 to get into cbd. netting $3 in 10mins is better than cruising empty or queueing for 20-30mins.
i prefer to go into 'office' cbd, not shopping cbd. shopping area almost 100% chance 1st pax send you out. office area more chance of running around suntec/shenton, havelock/coleman. pay $1 or $2 to get in, many $4,$5 trip connections. non-stop disco. did the math. but have to know buildings & roads in cbd well.

ya man , crown is a "life threatening machine" , especially raining day . The body , weight and the tyres just dun match .
For most accidents , you'll see more crowns involved than other brands .
Kenny , next time jam brake don't brake with free gear , that will be safer .
Make sure jam brake til 99.5% then go down free gear , cos this Crown skid easily when engagaed free gear and brake .

i hate going to the west, always stucked there for hours, they seems to stick around the area cannot come out from the kampong, I preferred east area especially their favour highway ECP, connect to all parts of sg very easily.

nite shift different , i luv going to the west coz tuas , pandan , many many calls , 1 call up , 1 call down , thats the best . same applies to east side , changi north , cargo complex , loyang , changi south 1 call up 1 call down haha.
My nightmare is north east and north especially those CTE bound routes.. knn

Is it better to go airport or cbd in the afternoon? In the afternoon, cruise in town area, no pax so zoom into ap to q, and end of day takings, averaging about $150 daily only. And also punggol and sengkang morning a lot of cabs, puzzled ??? really got so many cabbies in these area mah??? What do you advise, give me tips leh or I 114 (hokkien).... ; <

weekdays afternoon shenton,suntec (1 Raffles Quay usually good), battery rd. no cruising in town, must join taxi queues. i like int'l plaza after 3pm. bugis junction oso ok but pax most likely send u out of cbd. u have to recce abit to find out what time queue where. generally, long queue = good queue cos the lao gui drivers know where is good. just follow them. take a little time to observe the queue movements.
afternoon orchard very hard to join taxi queues, mostly already taxis long queue. (lucky, centrepoint, paragon). plaza sing, far east plaza not so bad.
punggol, sengkang, simei, tampines morning before 8am you go = die. cck, woods also. jurong e, bkt. batok better.
airport, not my cup of tea. i only do airport if pick and go. never queue. minimum waste 1 hour. shift drivers can't afford to waste 1 hour.
daily $150 is bad wor. normally my collection...
6.30-10.30 ~$100-$120 (must hit target, afternoon can relax abit)
10.30-11.00 ~ break
11.00-11.30 top up diesel (auto stop + $3) + wait for call. (must know which kiosk can get calls, lunch time pple mah). top up at this time best cos no pax otr, and no taxi queue at kiosk
11.30-13.00 ~$140-$150
16.00 keep ~$180-$230
bad days wif 2 hours tea break usually at least $160+, good days ~$220+,
very good days $250+
weekends don't need to say lah. more info ref my previous posts on sat/sun.

it's true night shift and day shift used different strategies .
Night shift those extras and surcharges , can be as good as , one slight wrong move , might affect the whole night's income .
Eg ...day shift loves go long trip love this sort of lau chwee nua trip , Harbourfront to Wlands that far .
Day shift fellas can hugged the pax and kissed them for this sort of trip .
We ? We go Wlands kum lan ? For us go Wlands die cock stand at night . So what $20 ? $20 in town 3 trip more than $20 , less than 1 hour . Go Wland , come back , 1 hr gone , waste fuel somemore .
If i know the pax going Wlands , i'll say thank you , take behind taxi .
