Last Tues morning, alight a pax at the Habour Front 2nd floor drop off point n could see a long winding taxi q all the way back to the traffic junction. Don't intend to join the queue as it is too long liao and also do not see any pax at all at the taxi stand. Decide to revisit this place later if i am near as i thought maybe angmo zhun maybe offloading pax soon. For close to 2 hours, i revisited this place twice and could still see the long taxi q with zero pax q. Blind leading the blind, herd instinct or i am missing something here.
Harbourfront is about ... Vivo is shopping !!
After X'mas shoppings , what else u need at Harbourfront ?
Harbourfront is also all about office tower , those the likes of UBS , Exxon Mobile , if office most on annual leave , what paxes do we expect ?
Harbourfront is about cruise centre , cruise not much people , what else can we expect ?
Those holiday goers already done their holiday on the cruise .
Harbourfront is about Sentosa , now current Sentosa , normal weekdays , Sentosa is simply dead piece of island .
Everyone just waiting for the resort .
Most people got stale about Sentosa , they need a breathe of fresh air .
It's a simple trend everywhere is quiet and taxi long Q after NewYear , back to work liao .
It's a culture .
when Singapore population 3.5m , taxi about 21,000 strong fleet , taxi fare $2.40 time already like that .
Now with so many taxi companies , and almost said 26,000 taxi populations , human population 4.5m , i expect such phenomenon to happen .
plus the taxi fare restructured , also do no good to us .
But .... when Singaporeans are back to work , the chances of us getting our target is higher than when they are not working .
So capitalised on that slight advantage .
Eg if Shenton ways less demand , cabbies will charge into Shopping areas like Suntec , causing a saturated situation inside Suntec .
When Shenton , Robinson Road , Ceceil Street , Chruch St , Raffles Place area taxis in demand , Suntec will have lesser taxis .
So we play the game easier .
Less taxi , easy to plot our games .
don't be suprised..harbour front / vivo taxi stand morning got pax. 15mins waiting time typical. i queued there a few times last month. morning abt. slightly past 7am cos kena habourfront centre trip. i got a load of workers going to mustafa, 2 more cabs behind me same destination. last time kena one go semb.
afternoon 2pm +/- also got pax. check ferry schedule.
when the queue is long, there is usually a good reason for it, cos many lao guis already know the lobang. definitely not herd instinct. the queue is moving. 15mins not too bad actually. normally i dun queue here in the mornings, but last month mornings too damn quiet.

Your time maybe short taxi queue and 15 mins wait, the one i witness that day, maybe close to 30 plus taxis and 0 pax in sight. Althought i did not hang ard to see if the q is moving. Usually i only q at taxi stand if less than 10 taxi, else i cruise ard to try my luck.
