me today loo pua puay, just reach home. bo bian, during cny 1st 3 days, suddenly feel very weak and tired after few hours driving! i actually made a lost over the 3 days! must ownself tiap for rental. so this weekend cheong back.
so far i only kena those few bad paxs which i mentioned at the other thread, maybe i still haven't venture into morning shift, not much to share also. so far, the 2 types of pax i like to take most are, gays and those indian construction ft! gays are very easy going as long you sound friendly, indian construction ft, i like to drill them since 10 years back! though they may not smell nice, but, really, they are so much better to fetch than some locals and caucasians (to me).
kena 2 indian ft, tcss with them, ask them about their foreman, they told me, no, no, working many many man, no four man!!
so far, from 1st pax till now, i never forget to press meter! press faster have! maybe i yao gui la...
hope this issue will not happen to me...cbd surcharge, twice meter got problem, can't press! after solving, ok liao. but some area not sure to press or not! recently got a news about a lady driver press cbd at orchard tower or forget where, which is not suppose to, the 2 pax keep quiet, ask for reciept, complain lta! the lady kena 500 orkong, suspend 2 weeks!
routes i beginninng to learn. those i don't know, ask pax know how to go? cos i not familiar. so far never kena lj wey from pax.
haha yah gay veri friendly n chin cai 1.......
FT indian 1 of the best get on board, u tell them
the route they say ok. Reach there pay u no complains
thats y i always take them by the shortest route possible.
FT Ah ney for me means those constructions, shipyards, blue collar factory Ah Ney. They are pretty humble and i love to fetch those pax.
Those Puki Tiang FT "Fair skin Ah Ney" or another version FT "white collar" Ah Ney from the middle and north are "Fxxking" bad lot.
Last week i have a pax who is local sg Ah Ney complaining about those FT "White collar" Ah Ney. And She told me many local Ney cannot tahan those bunches and say that even those FT despise them and local SG. Ha....ha...she also remind me to kick them out of my taxi....End of journey she give me a big "tips"keep the change.
Another bunches i like are those bangla - no big deal in which routes i take..... and even though they know their routes they will tell me to take whichever i prefer.
Same as Thais and Pinoy --- they are happy lots. Pinoy like musics and they usually sing along in your car...if you have musics that suits them.

Hi Pool, sorry for the MIA.
Yes, you're right! Spending more time to sleep and rest rather than online .
Kena 1 from angmo %^*&# me. Pick him from Kim Seng Walk to Suntech City.
Route traveled kim seng rd - havelock rd - eu tong sen st - victoria st - U-TURN(tot victoria st can right turn to bras basah rd)
- bras basah rd - raffles boulavard.
He said i should take kim seng rd - havelock rd - follow the rd straight to fullerton - raffles boulavard. (i also don't know where)
After dropping him, i put to "busy" mode.
i go test the rd he mention, and is kim seng rd - havelock rd - pickering st - church st - robinson rd - raffles boulavard.
lesson learned.
Cash , yes ang mor's route is also mine route .
Havelock Road > Pickering Street ( pass Capital Sq ) > Collyer Quay ( Hitachi Tower ) > Esplanade Drive > Turn right Suntec liao .
Funny on why we can know so well those road's name ?
Hahahahahahahahah experience .
Many taxi friends call me 地图。
Some called me Human GPS .
U think i drive taxi then learn ?
No la ......
Before i sleep , i see the Street Directory to make me a better and familiar driver for tomorrow . Almost everyday .....
Just random glaning through .
U may asked : " walan , sian leh ... "
Ya lor , that's how i sleep so fast !!
Finally got my body and internal tummy clock adjusted to new life after more than one week driving. First week, only sleep, wake up send kid to school, back to sleep then pick up kid, then get ready to start work again. Body very tired, brain refused to work, but at least when you see the stack of notes after the day of hard work, you feel some satisfaction can bring money home for the family.
It's hard work with long hours but I think I am getting to like this trade. :)

Talking about ang moh, I got this encounter on the first day of work.
I was at the end of pasir panjang rd (the west coast highway end), near the 7eleven, when I saw an old ang moh with a very young dark skinned asian girl came down from one of the pub/ restaurants. He is 50+ and the girl was maybe around 17-18. I tought what a lucky bast*rd. :)
Later on I found out from the girl that the guy was her daddy (means her mom's husband) and she is a student from KL, on holiday here.
The guy open the door, look at me for a good 5 seconds then said " Please send my girl to Wilby Rd". The name ring a bell, but i was trying hard to recall where it was, then I remembered Boss Pool ever mention Wilby Rd in this forum when talking about shortcut to 6th ave or Old holland Rd, etc. First thing registered on my mind where to go? Asked the girl but she was not sure about the area also. Just when I started driving, i noticed "South Buona Vista Rd" sign, then I guessed from South maybe got connection to North Buona Vista, and so on, so I turned left and tried. When driving further I became more and more unsure (and i have not mastered to use the GPS yet) and the road became windy and sort of deserted, finally see Buona Vista!. Pasir Pjg - South Buona Vista- North Buona Vista - Holland Rd - 6th Ave - Bukit Timah- Wilby Rd. There $6++
I should have taken the Pasir Panjang - Alexandra - Queesnway - Farrer - Bukit Timah - Wilby, and may earn three time as much, and blame it on the GPS!! Damn, I hate my brain for being too smart. :)
Got more stories to share, will tell later. now have to pick up my kid. See you guys soon!
My first day
Started by joining the queue at AMK office area, got there about 6 cabs in front of me. Waited abt 3 mins but only move up one cab, then I get scared loose, so I left the que thinking of picking up road side pax at an MNC office nearby. Pass through there, not a single pax waiting, then slowly cruise down AMK until saw another queue at Lor Chuan. Up to then I spent nearly 20mins empty and was starting to feel that driving cab is not easy as I thought.
Join the queue for about 5mins+ and one gentleman get on my cab “Uncle Lucky Plaza please”.
Bingo, not bad my first pax ask me to go in CBD, drove him in and he paid by Charge card.
At LP got 2 philippino ladies got in and ask to drive to boat quay, another CBD! From CBD one girl ask me to drive her to Red Dot house on Maxwell. From Maxwell cruise down along Robinson but saw the taxi stands full of cabs, so tried 1 Raffles Quay instead.
While waiting on the queue at 1RQ, I read the notes again and noticed that CBD surcharge is not auto, must key in manually!!??!!$$%% WTF, I didn’t charge the first two CBD pax (LP and BQ) and lost $6 income!!???!!$$!! Ah, new lesson learned.
A jap pax got in asked to drive to 28Scotts. I thought nmv lah, a bit out of CBD just learn to see all those flagging along Scotts as transparent and get to LP queue again. Reached 28 scotts, got a young pretty jap lady waiting for me at the lobby (ha ha I wished, but she was waiting for a taxi lah). She got in and asked me to drive to Paragon taxi stand, not bad, got pax and at same time save on ERP. Dropped her off at taxi drop off and joined the CentrePoint queue. A young Indonesian girl got in and asked me to drive her to, guess what, Red House Maxwell rd again. What’s happening at Red House?? :)
Drop her off there and join the taxi stand along Robinson. Got a black French guy got in and asked me to drive him home to Anchorage. By then already 8pm, drive into CBD and que at 1RQ again.
I got VERY lucky, my first day, got ding dong inside CBD many times J

Second day, the hirer uncle called me and asked to drive him to relative house. I guess he may want to experience my “driving skill” J
He said rather than let other cabby earn, may as well let me earn. True, but I insist that I won’t take his fare and drive him FOC. Yeah right, I am an insincere scheming bastard, but I prefer to build up a rapport with him, as we are going for a long term partnership mah. (For the record, he still insisted and at the end I deduct $5 off the rental just for token)
From Serangoon got one young chap asked me to drive to Jurong Point. Drop him off JP, a lady pax I picked up on the street asked me to drive to East Coast Seafood ctr, she was going to company dinner. Drop her off there and then in front of the Mc D along East Coast, one guy asked me to drive to CCK and pay by NETS. (before me I saw him talking to a Transcab crown uncle in front).
I believe driving cab also depends on luck. First day I got ding dong inside CBD many times. Second day three of my fours first pax sent me left right left right. J

One day I was queing at chief Poolz favourite place at AMK.
Got red Transcab wish in front, followed by green SMART, I was third in the queue. Got one ang moh came out from the office bdg and walked straight to my taxi. “Nathan Rd please. I’m paying by Nets” No problem Sir! And I drove off laughing my ass off.
I just imagine that the Wish at the head of the queue is Chief Poolz’ cab. Feel very shiok de J

Another day, while waiting at the same spot at AMK, suddenly “Beep”. Pick up Mr Chan at Grande Vista. Press 3 min and got there in one. Press Arrive and Call.
Was expecting to see a Mr Chan, but instead a beautiful young PRC lady (around 25yr) turn up and got on my cab. I confirmed it was her, actually her “friend” made the booking for her.
“Uncle, Paramount hotel and I need to be there early for dinner” “Yes mam! Can I go through TPE – ECP ?” “Just anywhere as long as there is no jam OK lah” she said.
Along TPE – ECP enjoying here nice perfume smell (yeah can smell the perfume only lah). It is nice to be rich and have a very beautiful girlfriend J
Ps, From YCK to paramount, is TPE – ECP the correct route to take? I almost feel guilty when collecting the $32.40 fare.
This one is not about a route, but just sharing a conversation I had with a Malay Transcab Wish driver I had at Night Safari (NS) queue.
I was asking him whether we still got chance to pick up the last pax at NS (as it is coming to midnight), then the conversation drift to pick up at RWS.
I told him just before got to NS, I was driving towards RWS when a booking come up at Vivocity, and I took the booking. Drove the pax to Jln Membina, then beep again pick up at Vivo. Drop the next pax at Telok Blangah Cres, then beep again pick up a Vivo. This one is a longer trip to Woodlands.
21:56 Vivo – Jln Membina $8.50
22:14 Vivo – Tlk Blangah Cres $8.30
22:25 Vivo – Woodlands $25.30
I took the picture of my MDT and showed to the Malay driver. He see until blur. :)
Ps, Chief Poolz, you want me to send you the MDT picture so you can drool over?? Hahaha….
Pps, I said this before and will say again, I still think luck plays a part in taxi driving.
Ppps, I still have some more stories to share, will probably type after tonight drive.
