Around 11.45pm on the Friday night .
I got a call at Oriental Mandarin .
When i reached ....
A comfort cab was in front of me , alighting his paxes .
When the bell boy saw me coming , he informed the 3 male ang mor ( who is standing outside the Comfort , looking eagerly , cos no need pay booking fee ) , but the 3 ang mor ignore the bell boy .
One of the Ang mor facial expression was : " I've got a cab , i dun care if u call or not , i've got a cheap cab ."
He kept thinking that Crown is his , but no , that Comfort was ON CALL also , cos everywhere ON CALL . That Comfort Crown cabby hand signal him ; " NO NO No . "
By the time he realized that , he wanted to hop in my cab when that Crown said no , one local uncle and one chinese auntie already on board , willing to pay for the booking fee .
That ang mor yelled at the bell boy : " I've got 430 , 430 was mine , what's going on here ? "
The bell boy just walk away . I smile at them .

nowadays seems like more and more smelly ang mos! i myself already got 2 unhappy incidents! bearing in mind that i drove less than a month.
though most ang mo take short trips from town to town, but i rem it was a day before cny eve, 1 ang mo was flagging me to stop at tg pagar. just suddenly, out of the blue, i "interview" him, he going kovan!!
quickly told him, change shift! he told me c'mon, i reply, too bad and good luck dude...
yes, majority ang mos can get fruitful trips by them. but i still believe in driving happy than to spoil my mood. i rather took a friendly makcik to upp changi east than a hard to tackle angmo. maybe most bros will say i out of my mind, but that just me...![]()

i saw encik, makcik, abang adik, blue collar workers, hokkien paikia, i never hesitate to stop and fetch them....they are usually easier pax and never make life difficult for cabby.
even in geylang, tg katong, joo chiat - i usually don't stop for pax (especially cina) but see abang adik and makcik i will stop for them.
same lah....nowadays, i interview angmor before they board my craft.

fuck pointer from tio call liao , except for Tuas pointer , hahahahah
hmm because you were at the end of his "perceived" snobbish attitude, so you'd describe him as cheapskate.
if one were to sit in a restaurant and upon seeing the menu, realise that the prices are exorbitant, then tells waiter he would like to shift over to the eatery next door, would that be considered cheapskate? lol
like our mp says, price rises because of market demands. if the eatery next door is full and have a long waiting queue, you would wait only if you can afford it.
there's a demand for taxis, so we drivers would like to cash in on it.
out of 54 weeks in a year, how many weeks are we in high demand? commuters complain when they cannot get a taxi for that short time, what about those weeks when we have to 'cheong' like fuck and maybe could not even fill the bread on the table.
I like 54 week year. ![]()
Yeh I met many...
Fyi I drive a merc cab.
There was once a ang mo hugging a chinese girl flag for me initially, but wave me away in a nasty way when he saw a normal cab behind me... I had stopped completely infront of them at that time....
Even at AP, ang mo refuse to take my cab even when the Taxi Coordinator told them that we charge normally... haiz... but I DUN GIVE A DAMN! hahaha
ang mo dun mean anything really...many of these pple could be backpackers here with a strong US$ or Euro. They could also be sailors who drop by and they earn piss shit back home.
I only drive ang mor from 5pm - 11.59pm Mon - Sat...all trips either start from town or they bring me into town
other than that i don't even know how a ang mor look like
Aiyo , Wish ma ..... maybe they thought Wish expensive ...maybe .
When i first drove a Wish , i really got a hard time , not now .
Now still got people think we are ex , but many knew it liao .
Take like nobody business .
U don't take nvrmind , somebody else would .
Today taxi industry , u better take a cab when u see one , u cannot chose anymore .
The more u are choosy , the more it's harder to get a cab .
Don't believe , try 11-March at Suntec !!!! 10pm , i swear to you , If don't call , 2 hours wait also no taxis .
