About SMRT taxis , any comments ?

  I once heard a story about a cabby returning his SMRT Crown .

  When returned , they need to check damages , the SMRT checked nothing , everything ok .

  They in the end , has to succumb to find faults at under carriage , found nothing .

  They finally can squeeze that driver almost $950 , for a minor 0.3mm dent on his exhaust pipe .

  By the radius of the exhaust .

  Reason for the fine : " Replacing of a new exhaust pipe ."

  A good taxi company is a company which has a relatively low turnover of cabbies .

  A few years ago , i already heard they are coming with new brand of taxi replacing the aging Crown and Cedric .

  The Chevrolet 2.0 Epica Diesel .

  Now still haven't seen one .

  When drivers like Patrick asked them when Auto taxis coming , they say : " Coming coming " .

  Coming  until now ?

  I change my crown for merc almost 9 months back.

  Inspection very quick for crown return. No fault found.

  I was told by mechanic that they won't be bother by minor scratches.

  that is becos u are changing to another more costly  cab. why wud they wanna find fault with u? when u return cab one day & tell them sorry not driving for you guys. see what they do? not only SMRT, all taxi cos will try to squeeze the last bits of the $1000 that u have.

  now if my hirer return cab and stop drivin , can tell u , his $1000 also not enuff. under my hands , the sonata undercarriage already gone case. aiya not that i dont wanna stop at humps , just forgot nia hehe

  Comfort and Transcab is more lenient in this sense. SMRT will try very hard to find fault with the vehicle until they squeeze some juice out of it.

  i too kept asking them abt the epica,they also say "coming"

  after 3 mths of waiting (that was on Sep last year) i gave up & jump ship to Transcab

  now my new wish mileage already 70k plus,yet still no sign of their epica haha

  of course when I decide to return my merc to SMRT, I already have plan on how I'm going to get my deposit back. I learned it from 1 of my reliefs.

  SMRT deposit refund is 90 days, they got lots of time to think what they wanna do.
