Are you happy with current flag down and surcharges ?
Share with us your vision of a good taxi fare structure .
peak hour surcharge im happy
8 to 12 outside of CBD ( metre only ) im fucking not happy. too cheap!
midnite im happy also.
my dream flag down wud be wad chrysler is now . $5 flag down and $0.30 jump. if all implement this , i believe being so siong as a TD is worth it.
with chrysler kind of charges implemented my nick will change to Sau Kow Ka liao. tio call liao ? mai la. waste time. take broom and sweep better
I like from between 8pm to 11.59pm , there is some kind of perks for me to have a slight desire to take those calls outside CBD .
Now basically desire-less .
I dun mind from 8pm to 11.59pm , there is a islandwide $2 surcharge before midnight .
Or else places like Vivo everyday in trouble .
With $2 , and bookings , it will be slighly better than RWS $3.
With RWS $3 , there'll still be cabbies taking RWS paxes .
But those who take calls like comfort taxis , will be interested to support Vivo a bit .
Or i really like to see Location Sucharge like Sgp Expo that apply in the 3 taxi stand at Vivo , Harbourfront Mcdonald's and Cruise Centre T/S .
So basically Sentosa area must come with Sentosa $3 surcharge , along with RWS Surcharge .
Vivo , Hfront , and CC to have a $2 location surcharge
Then it's up to cabbies to chose who they wanna pick . Rather than now , only RWS .
if paxes dun like to pay for surcharge , MRT nearby , pls !!!!
Like Singapore Expo $2 , still long Q of taxis , Airport still also long Q , not affected either ways .
Places like TM Ferry Term , must also have $2 surcharge , so when Sgp Expo bubble burst , TMFT not affected .
Both also $2 .
Now if SGP EXPO burst , TMFT in trouble .
AP bubble burst , lagi no need to say , TMFT first one to die .

better u drive into lot-1 taxi stand paste a paper write "CCK only $2 per head"
I really hate driving 3-4paxs during normal hrs, worst going very short distance...
example I pick a cheapskate & noisy family of 4,from kembangan mrt to lengkok tiga at 4pm.
knn come up only ask me on air-con full blast lah, play with my curtain lah like never sit in a car b4
then ask me change to 933 lah knnbccb, reach there meter $3.20,each only $0.80
then come the best part, gave me $50.20!!!
i really don't mind if they are nice & friendly people, but 4 of them got serious attitude problem
I tell myself, 80cents nowadays fucking big sia
can get driven home to doorstep, can listen to 933,enjoy aircon & also get money changer service
where to find?
singapore taxi expensive? think again
now unless it's 35% & 50% hrs,
3-4pax flagging my taxi will all become transparent
i don want to become a sucker, don blame me
I will also never queue at hdb mrt station & neighbourhood taxi stand again
back to the topic,i hope flag down will be at $4
if 3-4pax meter less than $5,a $2 surcharge will apply
Same here brother. These are my rules
1. I only sweep for paxs in CBD, RWS or AP.
2. I will never accept $2.50 non-prime bookings unless inside CBD between 5pm-12mn.
3. I will never accept $3.50 prime bookings unless pick up point is a hotel or condo.
4. all paxes who are in the wrong places are completely transparent unless they wave a red $10 bill at me when they are flagging.
5. I will never accept pax who cough and sneeze. Sick passengers must alight straightaway. Who suffer if I kena flu from the pax?
6. Street fare during non-prime or prime hours must be going towards CBD, RWS or AP kind. Otherwise I tell them to get off the taxi. Please no Yishun to Woodlands transfer hor.
came across quite a few ang mohs who commented they find the fares here too affordable thats why they harder to get cab, they 'very strongly' suggested that its time things go up because its still VERY cheap to take cab in sg compared to other international cities. they dont understand why sg cab system so efficient and effective (again compared to those other places), but why prices still havent go up to a certain level, so end up everyone 'abuses' the service, somemore complains so much about it, and those who really need it dont get to use it as much as they could..they say the locals are really spoilt by too much of a good thing, but the sad part is they DONT know about it
when asked abit more should increase to what level, they suggested, start ride should be at least $5, booking another $5, and if theres applicable surcharges also around there. even then this still very affordable compared to others, but they say it would better balance the 'public' transport system vs the 'taxi' transport system

cool...i like your style
after some driving, i find theres 2 kind of customers to watch out for. to me the ability to better distinguish these 2 will come with experience over time..
the first type is those 'Poor' passengers pretending to be 'Rich'..they usually cannot afford or feel the pinch taking cabs, but they do so from time to time because they late in a rush, or they dont know how to go to that place, or they find it more economical to share cab.
the second type is those 'Rich' passengers who are actually 'poor'..these pple might seem to take cabs casually but they are in reality penny pinchers who mind about every little turn and every little thing on a trip, long or short. like why stop so many traffic lights?? why air con not big?? why you never say before you take that turn (even if its a shortcut or the other road jam)?? they show colors like make noise talk big along the way, act like big shots, bang doors, throw sarcastic remarks all without hearing reason. worst, when they alight, they insist on a bargain, a discount on their terms..these 'Rich' passengers act like common market aunties, uncles when inside a cab.
the significant difference between the 'Poor' group and the 'Rich' group is, the 'Poor' group will at least still make a point to direct the driver EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, because they are worried about the final fare when reaching. The pretend 'Rich' group will only act up speak up (their attitude), but still keep aloft, and hands off like they might pretend not to know the way (even if they do), that way they think they will keep their hands clean, mouth clean without doing any dirty low down job..but after that they will press their thumb down doubly hard when reaching, suddenly they like know everything
both these types passengers, try to make it hard to earn their money, because they like to 'ssttrreettcchh' their dollar...
In contrast, the truly Poor pple will almost never take cab because they rely so very heavily on bus and mrt. The truly Rich pple will also seldom take cab because they either have their own private car(s) or they take the very occasional public transport along their way.
Before the dream farfe is implemented , write to the "REACH" forum citing that we should imposed a 2 dollar per stop fee for those idiots who like 3-4 stops. A TAXI if by logic is used for passengers to reach their destination NOT destinationS.
And like what i mentioned sg taxi is the cheapest as compared to developed country and citing the cost of our rental is the highest amongst all the asian country why should we give the "cost savings" to those idiots that doesnt appreciate us. In ways , driving taxi in SG is like doing charity for the nation if u sit back and look at it. Do a simple calcualtion of the bus and train cost and do it in return for cost payback....per unit cost of buses and train charged to passengers is 250% more than what we charge as a taxi driver....that day one smart ass in my company did the maths for me...next time i will post.
i have even drove some china men tourist recently and they commented that our surcharge is reasonable and understable and that will help promote efficiency.
to the best of my knowledge, our taxi fare is ridiculous cheap compare apple to apple. those bloody angmor, expat, FT and local sg suckers who moan and groan better go and cram themselves into trains and buses. These peoples mostly compared the monies to those cheap taxi fares in nearby countries.

i like all your rules. make sense. why not make it to 10 rules and become "the maxims of taxi driving"? ha.ha.ha.. Got to learn from you how to apply Rule #5 on how to get paxes out.
ah tan never drive today ah..?
