Market force will then decide those that are the black sheep to be out. Regulators are there to support, improve and enhance the industry.. not burden it..
As to taxi companies are loss making, first the grass is always greener on the other side. Second, many of their core business are not hiring of vehicle, but they need the number of vehicles for their core business, can be rental, insurance, selling of fuel, including CNG/LNG etc..
Basically to some companies, even if not profitable, it beefs up the groups portfolio and look nice in business sense (same theory to not all retailers are profitable, but to look good, they must stay). The chinese call it la chang bu duan.
Pricing - someone mentioned this somewhere in the forum.. Agreed that its way "too affordable". Its either no. of vehicles have to reduce, or $$ have to increase to further improve service standards and work life balance.
@RotaryEngine - I tried reading the threads.. just too many and messy.. so to keep ideas and thoughts centralized, this might be better.

allow drivers to own our taxis.Now there isnt any motivation to take pride in the job. Taxi Cos are merely leasing companies except they are much much more proftitable.
LTA say if we own our cabs , it will be badly maintained. talk cock , look at SMART cabs , do they look well maintained? As for call cente bookings , always can have a independent centre whereby there will be only one number to call. wad 7 numbers to call? total rubbish.
If i have my own cab , i will be more service oriented for sure. less cruel and ruthless hahaha.

One taxi , if CNG Wish , one car maximum $80,000 including COE .
If instalment 3 years , per month including interest maximum $2500 .
Per day also like $83 .
But 4th and 5th year , rental free liao everyday .
If can tahan 7th year , tua tua tan tan .
Of course when u have your own taxi , u will have a workshop to deal with your regular service and maintenance .

I can even tied up Finance Insititution for loans to new owners .
Members just need to pay me a nominal fee for those svs .
Any profits gain from there , year end will have a Member's Functions .
