Does anyone know if this lobang is viable? I just checked and the standard daytime fare is $60 from Changi to the Singapore-JB taxi station just across the causeway. It does not matter how many passengers. The total price is $60 be it 1 or 4 passengers. I imagine fetching people back from JB will be the same amount. I think the taxi fare will be higher for peak periods (eg. night time, weekends and PH) to account for getting stuck in traffic.
Taxi ? why taxi when you have bus
Dont know leh. I always see many comfort taxis queuing for pax at queen street bus terminal.
to drive a taxi inside jb need to pass a lic from jb side. heard is 1k sgp dollar. and taxi can only pick and drpoff at designated point and go by designated route.
Singapore - JB license u need to be a hirer. relief cannot
knn u all very eng , singapore already so busy liao , why think of JB ?

1 trip good enuf .
Then take another family back from Sinai to Singapore .
1 go , and 1 back ..... if regular , better than taxi driver .

i am saying if i want to cross border do business .
If you want to join the JB-Sin service, you have to join their member and pay a fees for a permanent pass to enter both side of the customs easily so no need to chop passport. Just like jurong island.
It's viable if you like to park your taxi and wait at the kota raya side and queen street.
And provided you plan your trip and timing well. Avoid traffic jams strategy.
You still can do your usual TD business in Singapore but not in JB.
Singapore taxi can only drop pax at kota raya. If pick up pax at kota raya -singapore taxi can drop pax at any location in Singapore. Same rules apply to JB taxi vice versa.
How much is the permanent pass and how come only comfort taxis? I have never seen other cabs parked at queen street.

I did asked those TD drivers before when i took their cab and forgot how much. But it is annual renewal and i think is around SG$200 annum...if i am not wrong.
It is for any cab...not just for comfort.....you just have to register with that JB-Sin Taxi and probably you can find out from them.
However my advise is not to join as you are not sure how those "lao gui" play the games in hunting for Pax in kota raya. Queen Street area is okay but in JB - you have to tweak.
Since LTA, NEA and TP are not present in JB means it becomes legitimate to charge any rate you want to any sucker u can find in kota raya yes?

I'm not very sure, but from Queen Street (that's near Bugis) to JB, it's $40 for each taxi to take off. You can go alone ($40) or split it among other passengers, which would be $10 for each person. As long as the taximan is paid $40 for the trip, he would take you along. We usually wait for other passengers to come along, so we pay $10 per person. If you think that $20 from Changi to Bugis is worth it, then $60 would be a fair price to pay. If not, you're better off taking the MRT from Changi airport to Bugis MRT and walking a bit to the Queen Street station to grab a cab. If you have luggage (and a lot of it), it's better to go with 2 or 1 more person (but you have to make your own arrangement with them, like you pay $30 and they pay $10). If you're willing to cram yourself up with more people, go ahead. Your bigger luggage would be in the boot anyway.
Fetching people back from JB is different. The price is RM15 per person from the Kotaraya II terminal, or, RM60 per vehicle. That ends at Queen street, though. If you need to cab back to Changi airport, you can easily find a taxi waiting along or you can take the MRT.
Hope this was useful!
(I take the JB-SG taxi service quite often)
Edit: Oh, I realised you're a taximan. Hmm. In this case, I think you shouldn't bother because you're better off in SG. The taxis we take are usually Malaysian yellow cabs, and I reckon the operational costs are way cheaper compared to the OC of SG taxis. You have to take into account the toll charges, the jam and the time taken. A typical, non-jammed, non-peak hour journey to JB takes about 40 - 45 minutes from SG. With the jam, you can double that amount. Bear in mind that with the non-peak hours, you also need to wait a while for passengers to arrive...
