Petrol eating up his salary...
The cheaper rental of $70+ compensate for the higher petrol costs.
For a 400km shift, fuel consumption of 13km/l (conservative figure, some driver can achieve 15km/l) fuel cost is [(400/13*1.747)*0.84] = $45.15
RON 92 petrol = $1.747 per litre
Esso's dicount card for Prime = 16% (13% upfront at petrol kiosk, 3% rebate through GIRO from Prime)
Overall cost = $75 + 45.15 = $120.15 (assuming rental as $75)
It's up to each individual on how they view this biz.

Premio cheaper rental, uses more fuel.
Prius higher rental, uses less fuel.
LPPL one. Only when petrol price goes up then driving Prius is advantageous.
