it doesnt make sense at all. u are paying $3150 to get 1400 ++ in return? hmmmm and also the rebate of 700+ is subjected to you paying the rental on time. with a job , can u be sure that u wont miss a rental?

Actually I am sick of my currently job because of the pay, not very high and not very low. Just enough to get by. So I started out part time relief and find taxi driving suit my style. But to plunge into it full time and quit my job a bit scary cos if I quit there will be no turning back for me. So I just try out first see if I suitable for OMO until year end get my AWS and bonus. If ok suitable be an OMO then I just quit and be OMO. At least can gain more experience till end of the year treating this period as OJT for my taxi career. If year end cannot then return car and continue to drive part time loh.

TCL's advice is still stay to on with a job. OMO or Taxi driving for that matter is really no fun. trust me.

why i say this cozzzzzzzzzzzzz in my years of driving ... i have made a helluva lot of TD friends. some good , some farked up . we all have something in common. we are still plying the roads .Not a single one managed to get out of this trade and did something successfully . some came out but jumped right back in again.
day in day out... not much light at the end of the tunnel. my frd once asked me , are u going to drive till the day u die? i replied , knn if no available option , looks like thats gonna be the case. hahaha

Bad idea. Bad enuff to be OMO, even bad that you want to be a OMO while holding a FT job, even worse that you want to take up Merc, given its high rental and your apparent lack of experience and contacts.
I always get the impression that newly-minted TDs tend to equate signing up for that new taxi to owning your own personal brand new car.
In life, things often don't go according to plan. In this context, the less you commit, the more room u give yourself to maneuver.

You are really calculative. But, it's just pure calculation on your part. At the end of the day, you may not get what you think. In short, please reconsider being a OMO & take the advices given by the bros here. -

Durian-callers may have Dep/Hourly disposal jobs... but... i don't rely on these Jobs to make a living.... No need be at their mercy... if nearby.. then take... don't be a tai-ko... the industry is small... everybody knows everybody....
