I don't like to ask ladies , cos they never will know which way to go .
I just go by my prefer route .

Ladies or not ladies, if they tell you your wish, I very scare, later they will sure ask why you never go by this or that way, or why never turn left or right....
Thats why I prefered tourists over locals...

my wife is an example. she will not hesitate to ask taxi drivers why they didnt go this way that way. I am more chin chye because all roads in singapore leads to rome :)

sometimes when i know the way i will just say which route to take
if i first time go or not sure, i will say "fastest way"
but tt does not mean he can send me to hor-lan and back bcos i will know! -
i think telling the TD to drive faster, that's kind of irritating for you guys right? That's what my wife likes to do hehe. And she thinks it's perfectly normal LOL

Driving faster hor might end up very expensive leh. Passenger can don't mind paying the extra, but if the TD's license kenna gandong, there goes his livelihood. Not worth it.

speaking of the fastest way.... TD which route is the fastest when taking passangers from Woodlands to AMK street 52?
For me, its SLE > CTE > AMK ave 5 > AMK st52 (not sure)
but this TD took this route
SLE > Lentor > past NYP > then somehow, reach AMK st52
TDs what do u think. For me, I think the TD took me to horlan.

He didn't. I believe that is the standard route we would take for tis trip. Your route is good if you drive an open top car to send your babe home but for us TDs, it's a delicate task balancing speed and cost because some paxs value time over money while others is the opposite.
Plainly said, the fastest is not always the cheapest and the slowest not most expensive. Glad you enjoyed the scenery in horlan.

It never has a 'one size fits all' method. Its all depends on what sort of pax. Locals are more particular on their routes unless it is a total new route that they are not sure. Just be tackful and caution.
Before you move off or press 'start', Just ponder for a few seconds on (a) where is it? (b) how to go there? (c) which is the better route to take at this time? (d) any alternatives route/s in case...

hmmmm i use this method whenever a pax comes onboard. example raffles city to thomson plaza.
i will always give them 2 options, go by cte or thomson?? then they will errr err both also can... haha ho seh liao , take cte la . but some will say no cte , go by thomson. ok fine i go by tat way. Eventually , there will be no dispute.
Stay out of trouble , go whichever way the pax wants.
