Singapore govt had privatised lots of state holding companies, like senoko power plant, sold to jap but still got a strong hold on it, as a fragile country, gas, transport, electricity, water are usually hold within the govt control thru temasek or GIC underwriters.

Got this from M1 2007, there are both private and govt link companies in it, beside these, that consituted 60%, another 40% of M1 share are floating in the market for both public and other individuals.
M1 is also looking into better broadband network and Cable TV in an all one box set up, however, they are more focus on phone lines as digital Cable TV is much beyong their reach, as you know, govt control much of the media here.
heard recently Comfort leased out ALL their taxis, now i know y they can be more yaya papaya than before as they always do also............
in fact i heard tat many taxi companies place ple on waitin list who wan 2 hire their taxi........even my friend from Premier said tat alot ple signed up as hirers recently.........
