reporting at Oita local time now. 10.10pm. last two days no wi-fi at highlands of Kirishma and Kumamoto. lost contact to the modern world technology. if connect singtel we need 20 dollars a day to connect. local telco will be more expensive. time really running fast, tomorrow will be Nagasaki than next day will be back to Fukuoka. than home sweet home back to Singapore for Hari Raya in the afternoon at Changi Airport. now alreadyy withh more than one thousand shots of pictures on this trip. really knockoff need a good rest tomorrow another long journeys.

than after finishing we will be heading toward fukuoka. stay a night there. next morning catch a flight back to Singapore.
this should say a very interesting. GPS given us a few wrong direction. meaning cockup. loss our convoy members a few times, yes we lucky we got handphones to contact. but the telco bill will be more this month.
from oita to beppu we face some probelm road closure due to recent flood. landslide on one mountain part. highway 52. so detour to another route take a longer journey. sorry got to go..... staytune if you love Japan for more updates once i am back in this thread. who say Japan expensive on free and easy by your own i will shown you our method.

One of my kakis, what happen was sitting beside a group of Japanese passengers on the bench after checking-in from the Singapore airline counter.
A few of the kakis went to the nearby sovernir shop to make their final round of shopping round.
This kakis is looking at the photos on his new Samsung Galaxy XIII a newly equiped for just few week, that he took this whole journey.
When we shouted to assemble, he leave his handphone without notice and joined us.
Than before entering the custom counter, he realised that he loss his handphone.
OMG what can this happen. everyones were ???? what happen now.
Than no one were here to rescue us, how to find back a new Samsung Galaxy XIII in this big departure hall with so many passengers around all nationality.
sure no way we can get back.
With lighthing decision, i told him followed me, so happen a airport police is around,
let him know this incident, than he told us come along with him, went to the loss and found department, he managed to find his handphone.
to prove that this hand phone is his, he told me to rang the number,
it answer, so he told us to signed some document, and than we go.
This police man told us is an old Japanese uncle found it and hangover to the counter.
My kakis must be lucky with this Japanese uncle, if this is another person,
I dun know whether is will be so lucky.

Fukuoka International airport are also completing with other neighbouring airport.
Nowaday some of their ground staffs really speak English.
After landing heading to custom counter, dun worry you dun speak Japanese, and filling the entry form, there staf that can speak Korean, Mandarin, and English dun be phobia anymore, it's so easy nowaday, if you dun travel you dun know who say our Airport forever at the top.
Even convenient staffs, Front desk Hotel staff also can today.
In Nagasaki some even speak dialects.
But happen in Kirishima restaurant Singaporean speaking, stayed there for more than 20 years married to there.
She told us here many are from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China...but CheapCheap hardly found, this is the first she is meeting us.
That why CheapCheap (Singaporean tourist) still never know this place.

Do you think a large group of tour bus load of tourist can enjoy the best ramen in Fukuoka example Ichiran i alway mention in those cubicle stting poistion one by one, it take time.
The first day and the last day, we had it. die die must try.
Sometime we can't blame them, without big group the tour agencies cannot make money no twenty person can't organise a group they ca't go. so time is not as you like.
Free and easy as like 8 is the best one van size or alphard can do all the everything.
Now so easy. online booking your ticket, get someone you know tailor make a holiday plan you wanted to go. than that it. no more middle man tour agencies.
Maybe next month i will be planning to Taiwan, cause another off period season, fly Tiger, take this kind of oppotunity less than 2000 Sing Dollar on your own. who can stop you doing it. Book your own hotel, less than 50 dollars you can find everywhere.
So this is all about travelling. Why rush gate crash to those stupid tour mega exibition organised by those tour agencies.

sweet potato, why sweet potato.Cause Kagoshima is very popular and famous for this.
there are many varities, i brough back 8 kind of sweet potatos.
this time, can grown here same climate..i tried it before.....not the same mean not the same.
those we get here are from Vietnam with few Japanese sticker they said it is from Japan. do not get fooled again.

SWEET POTATO TYPES
Today, there are upwards of 40 potato types being used for making Shochu. Similar to grapes in wine, breweries strive to highlight the best attributes of a specific sweet potato type, to be delivered with each sip. Breweries distinguish themselves from others by establishing a hold as specialists with certain ingredient type or production method. The three most popular sweet potatoes specifically used for Shochu production include the following top three.
koganesengan
This variety was born in 1966 in Kyushu, and is the most popular sweet potato in Kagoshima Prefecture. It’s a very starch-rich crop, very sweet, and is delicious to eat. Shochu made with refined Koganesengan has the fragrance of chestnuts.
joywhite
JoyWhite was the first Japanese sweet potato specifically created for Shochu production. Introduced in Kyushu in 1994, the name appropriately reflects its light skin and white pulp nature. The unique, not-too-excessive starch quality produces elegant-smooth finish and a fruity-citrus aroma.
beniazuma
Beniazuma is an early creation, born in 1984 in Ibaragi Prefecture located in central Honshu. It’s a strong plant, fast-growing with an abundant yield. When baked, it becomes a sweet and delicious treat. Beniazuma produces a rich and sweet Shochu, characterized by a silky sweetness that expands.

Osumi Peninsula
Located southernmost in Kyushu island, the Osumi Peninsula faces the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Kagoshima Bay and Kagoshima Peninsula to the west. It is connected to the active volcano, Sakurajima, which sits in the middle of the Kagoshima Bay, sporadically putting on volcanic spectacles .
Something like two thirds of the peninsula are forestland, luring outdoor activists and nature-lovers alike.
Those whose interests in nature are directed heavenward may want to consider visiting "Kihoku Tenkyukan Astronomical Museum" in the northwestern part of the peninsula. The location was selected by Environment Agency (now Ministry of the Environment) as the best star-watching site in Japan for four consecutive years (1991-1994).
A couple of dozens of kilometers south from the neck of the peninsula is the elongated artificial lake, Osumiko. The dam lake has a circumference of 10 kilometers, and is a favored site for viewing cherry blossom in spring, purplish hydrangea flowers in early summer, and crimson foliage in autumn.
Further south still, around the center of the peninsula, is "Osumi Koiki Park,"an open-air recreational facility with an auto-camping site and a go-kart racing track.
A dozen or so kilometers north west from the park is "Kanoya Naval Air Base Museum," standing right next to the Self Defense Forces air base. Dispalys are mostly centered around kamikaze special attack corps. A replica of Zero fighter airplane, put together from two downed planes, is also on display.
