Taxi Earnings Good?

Hey! I am wondering how much approximately can a taxi-driver earn per day (minus the rental)? My relative works from 4.30am (he said to aim for airport calls) to evening 7pm but still says money always not enough? True or not? He works for CDG ,btw.

I just wonder how come he cannot pay up his debts . Must be earned a lot but spent on some chickens outside. I heard taxi-drivers got many 'chicken lobangs'. Hmm...:-S

i drive taxi from 5am until 4am every day, earns about $850/day. i drive like crazy taxi ah.

Year 2000 , my that from dunno LTA or Comfort instructor told us : " If taxi driver dun earn $3000 a month , don't drive a taxi ! "Until today , i will still tell those , same theory , if u don't earn $3000 a month like what my instructor said , don't drive a cab .
I can figure it out , it is not ridiculous , for someone to drive 31 days a month , to earn that peanuts , it's not easy though .
31 days , 12 hours daily , daily $96 nett .
Fuck la , $8.05 per hour .
U can come and drive for 1 week and try , easy ?

Singapore only about 16000 taxis . Most Comfort & CityCab , plus a bit of Tellow Top .
Almost 3.5m people .
Now , 2010 , meter start from $3.00 , peak hour 35% surcharge , will you take a cab during peak hours ? U run far far from taxi , right ?
Now Singapore has got 5.05m people , total taxi population ....
Comfort & CityCab = 15,000 ?
TransCab = 6000 or 8000 ?
Silver = 1000 ?
Smart = 500 ?
SMRT = 3000 ?
The last time i saw it's about 25,000 taxis now .
Now if u adopt those cruise and hope for durian drop , quite tough .
Drive taxis must be work smart , not just wrok hard .

Many " frog in the well " Singaporeans , when they see long Q of passengers , say at Takashimaya , they will think : " Wow , business so good ?"
What about those taxi Q at Lot-1 , or Causeway Point ?
Then when they start driving a cab , they will go Takashimaya to take a pax , then pax sent them to Woodlands .
Then they Q at Causeway point , stuck at Woodlands for 2 hours , Causeway Point > Woodlands St 72 .
Causeway point > Woodlands St 13 .
Go back Q again ....
Causeway Point > Admiralty Drive .
All $4.60 trip . WHy like that ?
Then they complaint : " Taxi pie kia ."
" No luck "
" Economy no good "
Why like that ? Though taxi ho tan at Takashimaya ?
Here we are talking about Technics , Skills , Analysis and intelliegence .
Many cabbies know what i talking , but for non cabby .... tough to understand , cos of "frog-in-the-well" mentallity .

Taxi driver is an individual effort & very cyclical. Some days good , some days are knn super screwed up , so the good day's runnings are used to cover up the bad days.
Depends if your relative is a day driver or nite driver, day driver's earnings are more constant , somewhere in the region of $80 take home a day. Night can be as low as $70 to as high as $100 take home. But dun forget again , good days used to cover bad days.
I drive 22 days in a mth and take home abt $1800 on the average. Thats like $80 a nite. So i dunno which fella here can say that taxi drivers can earn 3k per mth. U mean no need to rest? every day so good? everyday huat?
Please , this trade is made up primarily of elderly people who have kids that are grown up , house that is paid off , no debts , their earnings is abt there.
