Why ? Taxi Drivers Fault again.

Waiting in the rain as cabs whizz past
ON NOV 25, between 9pm and 10.15pm, I and two family members were standing in the rain trying to hail a cab along Jalan Besar near the junction of Kelantan Lane.
No fewer than 10 taxis drove past us but did not stop even though they were empty and the 'for hire' light was switched on. There were other people waiting along the same stretch of road and they too had the same experience.
This is not the first time this has happened to me.
Also, taxi drivers parked at taxi stands, especially in the Race Course Road area, often refuse to take passengers. The authorities should impose tougher fines on such cabbies.

Why on raining days it is difficult to find taxi. On raining days it may be difficult and dangerous to drive where visibility is only 2 metre.
So most taxi drivers take a break until the rain is not so heavy.

So what you want from a taxi driver during the downpour..... Money or Safety.

cabbies need to rush to cbd to fulfil LTA objective first mah... to serve those inside cbd first... and inside cbd also cannot anyhow take street pax... cos of 10pm cbd rule... not that cabbies are waiting for call hor

Raining day ?
Everywhere also got call , meaning everywhere got $3.50 extra , why bother to even glance at this sort of cheapos ?
Just like just now , after that sembawang pax alight at Mustapha centre at around 10.45pm , he said happily : " Alight somewhere near the entrance , got peole waiting ."
I replied : " No la , i dislike doing business with certain sort of people ."
" BUSY " , here you go again !
CBD so busy , got cbd and bookings , where got time at that area ?
Just 100 metres away , i closed 2 eyes , can earned extra $3 , easily .
Who's fault , my fault ?
Society fault .

Comfort Transportation , already know it , back in 2007 , with the the new fare structure , will caused a problem like that , and PTC also approved to it .
Both this 2 authorities , has got Board of Millionaires Analysis , so my fault ?
They have got datas , and still they proceed with such structures , who's fault again ?
And if wanna approve something , pls educate those people outside CBD those outcome of the new surcharge .
Education not enough .

If during peak hours, along Jln Besar I can pick up a pax.....maybe during non peak hours I will pick up one too.
Peak hours pax siam us like anything, so non peak hours we go into CBD to make up for the shortfall and loss of time.
Other people buy milk powder for their children, I won't want to only be able to afford condensed milk for my children.

We owe noone a reason if our LED tops are set to BUSY and ON CALL. But i know a lot 'heroes' who bo chup & just whizz past with the taxi sign.
IMO , these fellas are the source of all these complains. Do u bros agree?
I believe LTA has already started deploying officers at the Lido just by the traffic lights.

When 1 day they decide to remove this CBD surcharge , lets see what u have to say.
You and a lot of others are already benefiting from this fare structure, so stop doing unecessary slams at these guys.

TCL , remember it was us , who play call everyday , pick and chose everyday , hiding whatever spots we can find , safe and quiet ..... that came up with such structures .

It was a good fare structure to curb those problems within the CBD .
Need some fine tuning though .

Well partly right , partly wrong. They came out with this structure mainly because of the mercedes drivers who were out there fleecing tourist & also the rising diesel costs.
From 2001 to 2007 , every nite in shenton way is the same , no call no pick , so why werent the structures in place?
Like i say , everyone benefits from this surcharge , im happy with it and i am thankful to CDG and PTC for this fare structure. I know when to appreciate & when to slam.

Don't say rain, even normal night that time at that location, you think you can hail one?
This is life...
When we TDs long que at Taxi stands no pax, complain to who?
Got a booking, pax run away when they manage to flag down one before we arrive, complain to who?

i 100% support of removing the CBD surcharge , back be4 2007 the surcharge , is so easy to drive in that area, cos less taxi willing to come down to CBD, i alway head down to town , call charge $4.00 and easily 10 or more call per nite , no worry pax no show no worry or where the location , is they the one who worry taxi no show. but reverse now , once got call , step the pedal like without brake want to be they fast , worry that the pax got hijacked .
i got pax telling me , now really better than last time, they sometime need 1 hrs to call for a taxi regardless of any day any time especially during 5 - 9pm last time, but now they just have to go down and can get taxi easily , difficult only on some occasion , but usually on mon ,tues and weds is easy
Even now got pax because of this surcharge, they can call u from their office ( office number) be4 they come down and if they show taxi long Q, they just take and go , make u to wait there, to wait for the no show come out, call them but go into the voice mail , that is why they use the office nos. instead of their own hp , so u cannot call them and fuck them, u call the next days , they can tell u i waited half hrs cannot c u , louded than u.
