Chaotic scene at airport
ON THURSDAY I landed at Changi Airport Terminal 1 on an early evening flight and was greeted by a chaotic scene near the taxi stand.
The area was undergoing renovation and a huge section had been cordoned off. The crowd of passengers who had just arrived, together with families and well-wishers, spilled onto the road where taxis were driving in to pick up fares. Add to that the snaking taxi queue and it was hard to believe that this was the same Changi Airport which had won several best airport awards.
There were some airport personnel directing the traffic, but the most commendable were the few trolley service staff, who carried on working amid the sea of people and whizzing taxis. They efficiently and quickly cleared the trolleys from the taxi pick-up area.
i hope the management of Changi Airport will look into improving this situation.

Went T1 to queue, the queue starts from after the tunnel, T1 info board showing 80 taxi inside, including those queueing along airport boulevard estimated about 150 taxis. It takes almost 30mins when i reach the T1 pickup point, where i saw taxi stand is overflowing with pax thru the glass. And the other secret passage also have pax, but cannot see how many pax inside, as there are only 8 taxi slots, thus the waiting time increased. It was 2145h when i got my pax, and the trip going to bt panjang.
Hopefully this info could be of use to you.
Considering it was an pick and go situation, it takes about 30mins to clear 150 taxis and the pax are still abundance....
I think T2/T3 will only take about 10-15mins to clear 150 taxis during a pick and go situation.
