What will become to the children of a taxi driver?

What do you hope your child to be when they grow up?
Do you want them to become taxi drivers like you?
What are their occupation now(for those elderly TD )?

As long its a honest living, wat job they do i also dun mind ;)

my uncle who is driving taxi got three children, 1 Phd , 1 honours and 1 nus still study ( 4 year degree) .

I know many instances of children of Taxi Drivers understanding how hard their fathers have worked, and studied very hard to be successful.
A few of my friends and their siblings..
no.1 - studied very hard and got into ACJC
no.2 - became a Commando Specialist
no.3 - excelled in Polytechnic.

Last heard he converted to Commando officer (Heard from his sis) could also be Commando (Warrant officer)

Have a TD fren. He got 2 children. 1 NUS grad and another Poly Dip...living in 5rm HDB, wife not working, seems like his income can support leh....dunno how he do it?

My neighbour is season TD for at least 30 years since NTUC (Comfort was formerly known)
His wife is a full time homemaker all her life, they have 8 children.
This old man only drives 1 shift and is the sole bread winner for the family of 12 including his own parent.
I heard those days Tds used to make good money eeven with the low flagdown fare of $2 to $2.20.

The old man is now 73 years old just retired recently.
His childrens are all professionals and married with family.

One of my taxi colleague , his dad was a taxi driver .
Single handedly brought up the children , 4 kids in all . Sole breadwinner .
Until became grandfather now .
Every professions will have good & bad .
If u are a Banker , and gambler , u are dead .
If u are a cabby , or hawker , and no womanising , gambling , drinking all your life away , u should be fine .

Yah, my uncle also drive taxi, his son lawyer, daughter teacher.
Nabei, i should have drive taxi earlier.

my dad is a taxi driver for as long as I can remember; drive for many years.
umm~ so now I am Moderator of Homework Forum, I owned a small business through 6 years experience in teaching, recently dropout from Poly to focus my time on my business, going botak in few months time, business will be auto pilot when I not around.

Haha....i dont even have a gf......and i thought so far away....and being a taxi driver.....hard to get gf.....so many ppl dont like td and think td as a lowly job....that cannot give them enough security.....perhaps i should really consider the option of buying a oversea wife after 35 years old...
