I'm looking for a taxi to send my child to school (Singapore Chinese Girls' School at Stevens Rd) from Sophia road area every morning at 6.30. If interested, please sms/call me at 97807367 for a discussion.
if cannot find , try calling tis number 6254-1117 , they will page out the job .
And your kid will be in safe hands .
If u keep calling everyday , the members would recognise you , and will surely take the job .
Just pay extra $2.50 booking fee .

And you seriously do not need to follow your children to school , the drivers are good & responsible enough to sent them to school on time , safely .
But one can forget about taxi drivers doing that regularly , daily basis for just what's on the taxi-meter .
With no booking fee , no extras , no tariffs ..... that person has to work really hard to find one charitable cabby to do so .
Again , taxi cannot be cheaper than school bus , which they are committed , rain or shine .
They are paid to be committed .
Hi Poolman, thanks for your advice. Btw, the number you recommended 6254-1117 , how different is this from the Comfort Cab hotline? Which taxi company is this?

Ya...
May try some Limo group driver, some families are using them as transport every morning, especially some area that is very hard to get a cab during rush hrs. (like Bukit Timah)
But of cos u must prepare to pay higher rate lor....
Won't be easy to find a Comfort/Citycab taxi willing to do this job. SCGS is notorious for it's traffic jams around 6.45 to 7.15am. Assuming you'll want your child to be dropped off inside the school compound, getting in already takes 10mins. Getting out another 10. During this time driver cannot accept any booking cos there is no way he can make it to the pickup point anywhere in the vicinity within 20mins. So it means about 30mins empty. (30mins during peak hours roughly equates $20 collection)
Bookings in the area coming like crazy, but can see cannot eat. I have a semi-regular customer. Not so bad (Nayang Girls High at Linden Dr), by the time alight around 6.45am. As Pool says, hard to do charity, I'm paid almost double of meter + booking to do this job. Didn't ask for it, but was offered this amount as the customer understood the traffic situation around this area at this time. This amount roughly compensates my opportunity cost. Obviously must provide tip top service. I would already be on scheme B prior to picking her up cos once meter cleared, bookings fly in non-stop. But mostly can see cannot eat. The traffic lights at Dunearn/Adam/Farrer junction requires at least 5-7 mins to clear. No way to accept any booking unless it's on the way like Adam Park or College Green. The other side like King's/Queen's/Coronation/Duchess is almost impossible to reach within 10-12mins. If all bookings cannot accept, then either turn left to Adam which leads to nowhere or turn right to Farrer which leads to more jams. Going straight is usually not a bright idea as it leads to SCGS! Basically it's around 20-30mins without a customer if I send pax to schools in this area in the mornings. As peak hour kicks in at 7am, heartbreak hotel if stuck in there.
If not on scheme B, in less than 1 min 3 bookings rejected and placed on scheme B for 1 hour. Then really no calls once out of this area. At least if on scheme B, I can switch back to scheme A once out of this area.
Wish you luck finding a cab.
I currently leave my house at 6.30am, drop my daughter off at the SCGS bus stop and can be home by 6.50am. The drive is very smooth, just that waking up early is a chore. There is no schoolbus route to my place. Sign...
6254-1117 is a private taxi call centre .
Hotline mend by human , not technology .
If got somebody answer your call , mean u got a chance to get a cab .
Comfort ? I dunno , now many complaint cannot get a cab , hotline simply cannot get thru .
Once they answer your call , they will use walkie talkie to page out the jobs .
If members nearby , they might just answer your call and pick you up .
if i'm around bt timah area(where all the schools are) from 630am-715am,it is surely a "busy" for me while I escape towards bt panjang direction.taking calls is confirm no to me,street pax if students also no to me...once bitten twice shy,knn like wat KTCK said confirm lose precious 20-30mins peak hr after alighting the students in the schools.
