Wow, Channelnewsasia interviewed a taxi driver today at about 1 - 2 pm.
This driver really provides premier services in his ordinary taxi.
He has installed a range of gadgets laptop, internet acccess, charger, portable
printer, video player, internet telephone and many others to provide the premium
services.
The so called black chrysler premium taxi cannot be compared to the premier
services provided by this taxi driver in his ordinary taxi.
Premier services? Good luck to him. He will receive a call or letter from CDG shortly telling him to remove all his gadgets.
With all these devices, his battery needs some serious juice and all his wiring has to be changed to high-ampere rated ones. Got change? Higher chance of taxi catching fire due to electrical short. Taxi burned down, CDG tell you to pay for everything including the kitchen sink, insurance never cover due to unauthorised modifications. Good luck!
Recently, CDG sent out message to all drivers, no cameras or audio recorders are allowed in the taxi. His IP camera records stuff happening inside the taxi somemore. If he is allowed to keep the camera, then some idiot will claim invasion of privacy again. CDG already informed LTA that they have taken action when some idiot claimed invasion of privacy on stomp. Then CDG will "mouth stuffed with lxn"
Big one is the fire hazard. LTA should kpkb too. Some driver/pax got burned then we'll see new regs regarding such gadgets in taxis. Idiot, he should have kept a low profile rather than giving interviews, getting on yahoo, cna, razortv. Asked for it, he did.

Anyone that saw my cab , they knew one glance , this chap is a simple guy .
Mine dashboard , only got LV card holder , nothing else ! No tissue boxes , no pens holder , no ala ka clock , no fan , no directory , nothing !
Only a In vehicle camera sticking onto the windscreen .
And a handphone holder sticking onto the windscreen as well .
That's it .
Unwanted , irrelevat stuffs , i dumped it away .
I kept what's relevant to my own interests .
in my whole cab , there is only ONE pen ....
a few small papers .
a small box to keep my toothpicks , screws , small comb , paper clips , rubber band ....
and the coins holder , and that little charger for my hp and ptt .
Got once : " Uncle , what phone u use ? Can i charge ?"

I have , i told him : " I dun have a charger , i charge all at home ." ( although i have )
