  I did not join the taxi Union. So the NTA will not help TDs like myself as I dun pay the monthly fees. 

  Many TDs really need help . They are  medical, Medisave and savings . Those TDs with cronic illness are badly affected. Even they are in poor health they  have to drive  the taxi coz they need to pay rent .

  The GOV should at least let TDs own these  taxis so that we can control our destiny. The inflation and the rising of petrol is not helping the TDs. We are at the mercy of the taxi operators and slowly the TDs who cannot make it will return taxi .

  SINGAPORE - Residents in the fast-growing Sengkang and Punggol areas will be served by a new hospital and an additional polyclinic.
  
  Opening in 2020, the Sengkang hospital - which will likely have between 500 and 600 beds - will be the third new hospital to be up-and-running in a decade, following the opening of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital last year and the scheduled opening of the Jurong Hospital in 2014. 
  
  On Friday, Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan announced substantial investments in the healthcare infrastructure, including a S$50-million upgrade of polyclinics at Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Geylang, Tampines and Yishun over the next five years. A new polyclinic will also be built in Punggol.
  
  On the new hospital in Sengkang - which will have a community hospital adjoining it - Mr Khaw said he has tasked SingHealth to assemble a "young outstanding team" to take charge of the project and will "challenge them" to build a better hospital than Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and the one in Jurong, "measured from the patients' point of view".
  
  The new hospital will be located beside Cheng Lim LRT Station and within walking distance of Sengkang MRT Station.
  
  With this addition to the healthcare landscape, a hospital will be within 30 minutes of every patient, said Mr Khaw. 
  
  Mr Khaw added that eight polyclinics have already been upgraded in the past five years and, while waiting time remains a problem for walk-in cases without appointments, it is now "manageable" for those with appointments. 
  
  The upgraded polyclinics are now paperless and have multi-disciplinary teams. They are also piloting tele-ophthalmology for patients with eye disease, helping to cut unnecessary referrals to a hospital ophthalmologist, said Mr Khaw.
  
  The Health Minister also revealed that the 700-bed Jurong general hospital will be renamed the Ng Teng Fong Hospital, after the family of the late property mogul and founding chairman of Far East Organization donated S$125 million to the institution. 
  
  In a statement on Friday, the late tycoon's son, Mr Philip Ng, who is also the company's chief executive, said: "This gift serves to give back to the Singapore community as well as to leave a lasting memory of him ... We're certain that this development will bring quality healthcare closer to the community and help develop medical capabilities for future generations."
  
  The donation will be used to set up the JurongHealth Fund for needy patients and for research, staff education and facility enhancements, said JurongHealth chief executive Foo Hee Jug.

  Dr Gomez took the issue further: "The SDP would like to ask PAP's Sembawang GRC team how they came up with this sum of $500 million. Where does this $500 million come from and what is the breakdown? Who or which agency is contributing to this $500 million?   If one is incompetent , can he or she come out something like that? i doubt so.

  All Taxi drivers who are tired of paying exhorbitant rentals to those bloodsuckers should vote wisely.

  No vote wisely seriously things will get worse ( rents going up higher ) , Vote wisely still got chance.

  In the latest exchange of words between thePeople's Action Party and Workers' Party, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tancalled WP chief Low Thia Khiang "mischievous" for saying the government has been guilty of raiding the reserves.

  Speaking to reporters after a youth dialogue on the proposed Tampines Town Hub and the soft launch of the Tampines Eco Green Park on Sunday, Minister Mah said, "This is a very fiscally prudent government."

  The government has only drawn from the reserves once, in 2009, during the worst economic crisis in Singapore, Minister Mah was quoted by mainstream media as saying.

  Last week, the Minister said WP's proposal to lower flat prices by lowering the cost of land would amount to an "illegal raid" on the reserves.

  In response, Low said that going by the same logic, the PAP has been guilty of taking from the reserves for years and using the Grow and Share package to please voters.

  Minister Mah said on Sunday, however, that the package was completely funded by surpluses from the government. The government has also returned the S$4 billion it took from the reserves in 2009, even though it was not obliged to do so.

  He pointed out, "I remember Mr Low himself commending the government for that. Yet now he is saying that we are actually using money from the reserves."

  Adding that he is not targeting the WP but pointing out serious flaws in its proposals, the Minister said, the WP was able to make its proposals attractive to voters in the short term because it does not "seriously believe" it is going to form the government and would not have to implement all these policies.

  Hahahahaha....knn i read all their 62 pages.....of course lah...my first glance is Page 44.  This page 44 should be distributed to all cabbies in SG.

  By the way, the constitution amendment is more important. Cannot suka suka amend lah.....it's life and death issue and not just bread and butter you know.But to support this, the oppositions need to fill in slightly more than 1/3 of parliament seat.
