Hi Everyone,
I would like to trouble you all again regarding Taxi matters.
I had heard from my friends that in every taxi, there is an Emergency Button for the driver to use (activate) in case of Emergency....
I had been driving for SMART cab for a while before I switch to TransCab recently and yet I did not know that this E-button exist. (None of the staff in the office brief me on this thing)
2 Weeks ago, I drove the Toyota Crown and found the location of the E-button. But when I ask my other Hirer (who is driving a 1.8L Wish) where is the E-button, he told me he also dunno. (He just started to drive for TransCab 3 months ago)
Although I think in SG, especially since I am driving Day shift (sometimes till 10.30pm),it should be quite "Safe" and the chance of using that E-button is slim.
But "touchwood",since my kids are still young......and "In case" ..., can all ShiFu's here enlighten me on where is the location of this Emergency Switch ??
Thanks a lot !!!

For CDG taxis, there's a small red button on the side floor panel near yr accelerator pedal. if you place yr right foot on the pedal, its just located slightly on the right side, just fit for you to 'press' using yr right foot.
step on the button and hold for more than 1 sec then release, step again for more than 1 sec then release, these actions must be done within 10 secs.
Then yr MDT will pop up a message: "pick up at changi airport".
press OK if you huv accidentally activated the emergency button.
DO NOT PRESS OK if you are in danger!
remember you huv to step twice to activate it.
Call centre will send another message to double cfm yr activation with a message: "job accepted by SH999". press OK immediately if it is a false alarm.
If no response fm you, call centre will monitor yr situation accordingly and also activate nearby 'Ma-Ta' & nearby taxis uncles...
Just to share...
one night when I was fetching a chinese national fm punggol to Bouna vista just aft midnight, he was a bit drunk but look ok to me.
As usual, he came in fm the left rear door.
I noticed he had shifted to my rear in the middle of the trip. That was at AYE. When come to a traffic, I requested him to seat at the left side instead of behind my back.
He asked me why and I said its for safety.
He laughed and went back to snore again until dover worksite.
This is my style of ensuring my safety.
Hi All, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. Also, to Komade, I think I had seen a dark green button on the steering wheel left side but it is behind the wiper control. Not sure if this is the one... .I will try it one day...
Ok, just make sure the police, ambalance and CD come, then tell them that you are just testing them. Stand 2.
