  assuming even if they willing to share, whatever you might learn now from the old birds with their previous experience based on the past traffic system, everything might have to be totally thrown out by the time the new satelite erp system launch in say 18-24mths time ..its gonna be a whole new ballgame soon. consider taking bus or train driving license? because TRUE mass public transport might rule then.. O.O

  Mr Huat , what the ERP system u mentioned , to me , has got nothing to do with taxi driving . Can only make it worst for commuters . From a night shift driver perspective . I say so cos many cabbies said when the NEL launched : " oh siao liao , NEL start liao , taxi cannot charlie makan liao ." Then what ? U looked at Little India , got NEL lines , yet still so many people flagging for us , still we treat them transparent one . Some even staying at Seragoon and Hougang and Punggol or Sengkang , actually need to call a cab ! And no taxis entertain them somemore . How i wish those NEL base customers can pls take a train home , don't disrupt my frequency , these people are wasting my time .

  Follow by Circle line .... My colleague say throw key liao , circle line start liao .... Then i looked at the map , these fucking Circle line good for me , cos those routes they applied , pay me booking fee , tell me to take them , i also never will take . Like Indoor Stadium , got circle line , where must advance booking ? I will let them take a train down to City Hall , and hop into a cab , and i charge them CBD $3 . Circle Line , it's for them to feeder a service to CBD , for us to earn them that $3 .

  What killed Singaporeans is that accessive foreigners , i calculated , access of 1.55m people . We taxi drivers need these foreigners to suppress locals to book a cab . I just need that little 0.01% of that 1.55m new immigrants to take taxis at the same time between 6pm to 12MN , and that enuf to kill them . Taxi company come out with another 10,000 also not enuf for this little 0.01% of that 1.55m . Do your math .

  Fuck lar whatever things these people can implement , the more the merrier . As long as Singapore has got Caucasians , Indians , Chinese , Hong Kong , Indonesians , Malaysians Philipno , Burmese immigrants working in Singapore , taxi will not die , nothing can kill us . Even that 35% peak hour surcharge that implemented against us , also will not kill me . Fuck lar , implementation and ruling is dead one , our brains is alive one . So many i can say ...... Only those people drink coffee with me , know those tricks .

  Also i remember when a few years back , they said Joo Koon will have a new MRT line , many cabbies said : " Siao liao ... Tuas tan bo jiak liao ." But knn if u drive a cab , they have to beg us to take them home now ! Now simply no taxis interested in supporting those people working at Tuas , staying at woodlands , sengkang , bt panjang , bt batok , jurong etc .... A waste of our time to service them .

  In my taxi philosophy , taxi is a different public transport to MRT and buses .

  Taxi is "PRC" to me ....

  Privacy . Rapid . Comfortable .

  Taxi also have that 3Cs ...

  Clean , Cooling and CHEAP !!!!!!

  I have said a umpteen times , taxis is a threat to buses and MRT .

  4 person on board a taxi , cheaper than taking buses and MRT , where got logic , no threat ?

  Last night 7.55pm ....

  Passed by Ion Orchards ..... to Q at Wisma Atria , for a quick CBD and peak hr .

  I saw a family with baby throlley , walking towards ion orchards taxi stand .

  I just continue to wait .

  Then sekali my boot open , it's that family !

  I asked them : " U all waited at Ion ?"

  " That side where got taxi one ? I wait here got $3 extra , that side i got nothing ."

  They kept quiet .

  Every Tds have their on system . Its all based on trial and error . No system is perfect .

  No one will teach you how to drive a  taxi coz the luck of taxis are different . I do not know if

  you believe this but this is what we call destiny .

  As for the trade secrets its best you got the company of the TDs here . Normally they hang

  around Lavender food court . Its best to consult bro Poolman. He is the BOSS of the forum.

  Just a piece of advice ; be humble , have a healthy living and handle  yr cash flow .Its best

  to keep some for rainy days .

  actually if some super grade smart aleck civil servant at LTA decide to remove CBD surcharges (because ERP is satelite based), it will be a big game changer to night drivers.

  Develop yr own routine, yr own regular places, yr favourite routes, yr own start point of the day, etc...

  Just go thru the entire taxi forum if you have time, jot down impt points from the bros here and apply it. That's it! Huat liow lor!
