Fatigue and seat belt ?
Important to you ?
In fact , this 2 can kill you !
It happened to one of my cousin today .
Yesterday morning 10am received a call from my mum , cousin was killed in the early morning hours , in an accident .
NS Highway from KL to Johor near Muar .
Went to the wake in the evening , heard from my aunite , he missed a bus from KL to Johor .
So had to drive .
But due to the fact he worked in a press , and had to work on a Friday whole day as well .
And yet need to drive 3 hours down from KL to Johor , just to go back to his own house in JB .
We guessed he doze off while on the steering , and hit something like a truck , and went over the drain .
To add the fact he didn't buckled up , his head hit the windscreenso badly and caused internal bleeding to the head , and the ambulance that came too late didn't help .
2am accident .
4am ambulance came , try to savange .
Too much lost of blood , 7am declared dead .
Accident at Muar , it took 2 hours for a Muar ambulance to arrive , and declared dead at Muar .
RIP cousin .
He knew that he getting old , so he switched to Coach later on , most times , too bad ..... this time he missed the bus , and drove , fatigue killed him .
If he had buckled up , his head will not hit the windscreen so badly and killed him .
Earn a bit less nevermind .... if tired , pls stop and sleep a while , must have enuf rest .
Earn money must not forget to buckle up , to get fine for not putting on the seat belt , it's nothing .... but it may kill you .
i was a bit shaken by this ..... so totally i did not drive today ...
One incident I will always remember about seat belts.
A father and son was viewing a house in Katong, when they want to leave the car cannot start. The son push, the father behind the wheel, as they try to push start the car. The car suddenly zoomed forward straight 90degrees into a drain. I was behind I saw the son running to the car, I can see the brake lights shining sky wards. The son try to extricate the father but the door was jammed, the father was not moving at all.
I went to the Katong Swimming Complex to call the ambulance and at the same time inform them they need to extricate the injured. That time I can't afford a taikoktai.
I went back to the scene, there was a doctor there. He was passing by. As it was dark in the car, I lent him the torch light from my car. He came up from the car, and shook his head. Indicated something like the injury across the chest.
The SCDF came and pry open the door and took out and lay the body on the road for the Black Maria.
A simple push-start, would you have fasten the seat belt?
I now use the seat belt in the car, whether front or behind. And get the all the others to buckle up too. You never know.
A full collision at 15kmph in the car park, can kill, if the seat belt is not used.
Tell them to buckle up, at least.
My taxi drivers like to use a seat belt clip to prevent tension on their bodies. For this device to be used effectively, they must adjust it such that sufficient seat belt is released so the driver can move his entire body forward to insert the cash card without being restrained by the 'fixed' seat belt. This is a very dangerous practice. If they get into an accident, the seat belt will not work as intended.
Condolences bro.
