That day went to JB for funeral .
Boarded a cab to Skudai from City Square .
Open door , i asked : " Skudai Nirvana Funeral Parlour u know how to go ?"
He replied : " Yes , i know , but no meter , RM25 , u can ?"
knn , lan lan , say yes lor .....
Funny thing is , cabby pressed meter .
Flag down also $3 , but RM .
Think they have $2 peak hour surcharge , below shown a $2 .
But who cares , RM25 for me is SGD$10 .
I just wanna make sure cabby know the way there .
So had some interesting conversation with that young johor cabby .
They said fuel prices killing them ....( i also puzzled )
Kopi also increase .... food increase .
Taxi meter ten years unchange .
This non meter movement were discourage by their authorities . Must follow meter .
But their "Cabby's Group" , lead by Malays , overturn such rulings .
So chinese cabbies follow .
He said if follow meter , will 饿饿æ»
Then i know their taxis ..... non were owned by them .
Like Singapore , it's rented taxis .
Different is , taxi companies do not do their regular servicing .
No wonder condition for their cabs very bad !
Dirty , aircon not cold , engine shaking , can felt engine no power .
Proton Saga somemore , i think the cab i took is about 20 years old at least .
They do owned taxis , Limited edition license will only be given base on occasion .
Like Sultan Birthday , National Day , Agong Birthday etc ...
Everytime whole Johor will be given like 100 taxis license .
And share will be like Malay drivers 70% , Chinese 20% , Indians 10% .
And colour must not be in Red , maybe Yellow or Blue .
Red is for rented taxis .
