Maximise earnings by many short trips or fewer long trips ?

which of these 2 strategies make more sense,I suppose it also depends on timing (morning,evening nite or midnite)

my timing , going to various places in a cab , is the worst , except midnight .

Some might think : " Wow , long distance , good money , longer the better ." Yes midnight yes , 50% more .

Before that , better for us ? Better my head .

Base on Singapore's current demand on taxis at night , 5pm to 2359hr , i had to give mutli stops a miss . It's a Big No for me .

It's a waste of my time .

Time for me is precious .

If want multi stop , midnight anytime .

But does those cheapos willing to do it ?

No , they die die must go before midnight . The best is not even need to book for one .

If they couldn't get one , cabbies will be curse .

many more shorter trip beat the fewer longer trip, can whack more boarding charges two fifty or something already made instantly.

even a consumer know this simple theory .... yes boarding charges of $3.00 flag down

If base on $0.20 per so call "jump" ..... u need 15 times to get $3 .

if every 385m jump $0.20 , one need to travel how many km to get $3 ?

Again , mine logic is base on extra tariff during after 5pm .

Tariff like CBD surcharge , booking surcharge , AP surcharge ......

It might not apply to day shift .

I sat with some newbirds , listen to their experience .

I laughed when one 2nd shift driver told me he " lau chwee nua " if kena go Woodlands !!!

Cos one trip $20+ ......

Long trips.. Quit for job, rent out your house, go for a long trip =P That's what I love to do, I don't earn a lot though.. as a matter of fact I'm still a student but I plan to do that when I graduate.

but i always experience heavy traffic and jam in CBD during peak hours leh. then at the end of the surcharge period, look at the takings... not very ideal. maybe becos i still new... dunno where to wait for the ping....

Peak period means short trips, off peak periods means long trips.
