Yesterday afternoon around 5.30pm, I was proceeding to Airport terminal 2, An airport controller stood there (Showing his hand signal to passing taxi signaling them to go in the road(which taxi is not allowed to go in)) He stood there BEFORE the place where you can go directly to the carpark for Q or go directly to arrival hall (which has a sign showing no entry for TAXI)
I follow his instruction to go in where I also saw NO TAXI Queueing in the carpark, but when I turned & park at the waiting lot, the man of the taxi parked next to me (who went here by the longer way) told me that Why I was not Queueing and he said he will complaint..., I told him that I followed the controller's instruction. (It seem he did not see the controller before or may be ...)
Do you have the same experience? May be next time, I will ignore the controller's instruction and just go by the usual way (which is longer). It is longer but will be not getting scold by others.
Also, Did you think the airport controller have the right to ask cabbies to enter the road (which is not allowed by law)?
Sorry, The Taxi co-ordinator should be called instead Airport Controller.
Usually only that guy who hass some white hair carrying a light stick will wave taxis to go in. the other controllers won't do this. If you are right, why bother that TD bro?
There are so many of them cut Q and went in straight during 'chaotic timing', eg: 5+pm peak hr.
But to my experience, I seldom see him wave in after 5pm becos by then there were already many taxis in the Q.
I think he wave them in when there are not enough taxis as the first Q also has more pax waiting, so the controller will not direct taxis to the second Q facing the road. Imagine hundreds of pax in the Q without a single taxi...
I see. you are right. saw him today again. Today many taxis kerna playout, at 4.45pm, almost 120 taxis queing. the flow is so slow. me kerna playout too. Reached at 4.50pm, picked at 5.30pm. lucky went to Jurong west st 41 condo. Phui
