I see a darker cloud ahead, with the stumble of the share markets, and both the short and long term uncertainties which many predict will be double dip recession, we might face some difficulties when pax's pockets are running deep. If have, my advise is save for the coming raining days.
Last month was a bonus and wage increase month for most companies, my company also give good bonuses and NWC increases, you will see better income as most will have better spending power, the lasting effect might spill over to this month, but you will see a bit tight situation coming sept and the month ahead, tourism might also drop especially from the western side, both europe and states are in deep shit. Inflation might go as high as 6%, imagine the transport hike coming in, all prices of goods will go up, couple with strong SGD, import and export is going to suffer, it will be a belt tightening month ahead.
If you are not earning per month another 4 to 5% more, you will be affected by the inflation rise, companies are giving on average also 4 to 5 % wage increases in line with the cost of living, otherwise, people will change job or look for better ones. But for Taxi drivers, we get nothing but more work, driving, tiring, argueing, frustration and higher and higher fuel and rental cost, in short, we might be losing. Knn, what the F is this National Taxi Association Doing??
