Full Time Job + Becoming Hirer: Is this Possible?

Greetings.
Im currently having my full time job (NUS) 8am-5pm. Leaving home at 6.30am to send kids to school (simei) and wife to werk (Stirling Rd) and reaching home by 7.30pm after fetching them back.
im looking at becoming a hirer to supplement our low household income. or alternatively as a part time relief - first. If things are in favour.. eventually my target will be as Hirer, leaving behind the supposedly stable full time job..
i was wondering if this has ever been done by anyone. whether will it be possible and if yes.. how long can tahan? will it be worth the change - taking into account that taxi driving could have more flexible timings and could earn more than my technician full time job. being a hirer could also have better benifits compared to relief.
on the other hand.. if were to quit my full time job and suay suay kena road accident or suspended driving.. the taxi will have to be surrendered and there goes my driving and full time job..
so.. will it be possible to hold full time job as well as being a hirer - to get the best of both worlds?

Your full time job schedule difficult to be hirer. Unless you work shift then ok. Last time I start OMO while holding a full time job but I work 15 days a month cos I on 12 hrs shift. Now I quit my job full time OMO. Depends how much you are earning now and how much you want to earn a month. I would suggest if you really want to earn extra then drive relief better. Part time weekend relief will be good. Bcos that is the time when you can earn the most compare to weekdays. But quite difficult to find cos usually seldom got people let out on weekends only. You want earn the most is drive Sat evening peak start to Sun morning. Easily can nett nett take home $200 minus rental and fuel cost. No need skills. Go every where also got people.

Then wake up 6am .

I suggest u remain focus on your day job from Monday to Friday .
Then start training yourself , using Saturday and Sunday as a platform .
I suggest u work evening shift on Saturday from 5pm to 6am .
And Sunday 5pm to 12mn .
Good enuf .... let's say this 2 nights to give your $300 take home . As in nett $200 on Saturday and nett $100 on Sunday .
One month $1200 . Nett profit .
Enuf rest .
Not affecting day work .
Only negative : U'll got to see your children lesser .
And ........ can forget about having a good sex life .
Unless ur name Komade , taxinoob etc ..... dunno their nose will sneeze ?

Or can forgo Saturday , using this day as Family day .
Then go all out on Sunday full swing from 6am to 10pm .
Nett if can get $250 .
One month also bila bila $1000 supplements .
Of course one must possess tremendous stamina and appetite + desire to achieve their ultimate targets .
Whatever i said ..... it's base on what i've heard , seen , tested not by me , by many people i spoken to .
If u believe that man called Poolman , u not likely to be disappointed .

I didn't know we can make so much driving taxi in a night.

TS, sound like you have your own private car with all the ferrying.
Driving taxi is not for everyone, or rather not everyone can make it.
Do bear in mind that there is
NO CPF
NO medical leaves
NO stable income
In short, is it not as easy as you think.

I think he wants to use the taxi as a private car & at the same time earn a bit extra money. Please do your maths properly & see how many hours you are left for driving taxi each day. You can only have ONE thing, health OR money. Not BOTH!

Keep telling people how much you can make here, no wonder so many people want to give up their full time job and drive taxi.
It will come to a day when there are more taxis on the road than paxs.
Then you will slap yourself for boasting here how much you can make in a night.

No lah I mean only Fri and Sat night can huat lah. Weekdays night jia sai lah. So many hungry TD around no pax how to huat. Taxi no good earn lah. No CPF no leave no mc. Like me sick 1 week jia sai liao. If not got incentive to cover my rental die man...

Taxi no good earn lah. Only plus point is no need see boss face. Not good mood still can kpkb the pax. But if want earn good money must have the stamina to drive like mad. If relax relax drive like me dun expect to earn much loh. It's not for everyone unless you dun have commitment like me. My house fully paid up so I no need CPF contribution and I stay with parents so my whole house rent out for passive income.

Thanks to everyone for all the advises and guidance.. i'll take your advises in looking at relief driving first (hoping that a hirer would take me lah..) learning the ropes.. one step at a time.
of course no earnings are easy nowadays.. office hours already work like mad.. surely if want to earn good $.. need to drive like mad too.. (and smart..)
im not a degree holder and above either.. to earn a full time salary enough for a living. for me.. to earn more means to chiong more..
newbie like me versus the lao jiaos.. the odds are obvious.. but i believe.. through experience and time and luck and chances.. the odds could be trimmer.. :)

Taxi driving , the longer u drive , like ginger , the hotter it gets .i do not know what u meant by time , time for us is money , no time to waste .
luck ? When u have technics aka skills for me , u create your own luck . U do not drive around and hope for durians to drop .
