That day I was at a road, about 5 taxi pass by me each asking me I wanna go.... that's before 4pm prior to change shift. I can understand them la~ the 6th uncle happy happy say he's also going to my destination area, so he pick me up.
this means he has encountered so many "changing shifts" taxi drivers...and those who stopped and ask if he is "on the way and if not cannot fetch" drivers....these are so common....
thats the reason why....TDs...
just a critical commentary on our TD scene....it needs more customer centric approach than individualistic attitude that driving taxi is a business where one can be picky over customers....

with the fare structure n the rental we r paying now hard to justify bro............

agree....vut the system would only saturate with more taxis ....
but i think the feedback structure is necessary to spruce up those drivers who possess careless attitudes....
i believe there are many good and professional drivers....
there are good ones but also bad sheeps...
maybe use the rep point
pax can up the driver if the service is good
no system should be out to weed TDs....its a national rice bowl we need to protect....but professionalism needs to be improved with certain reward points or benefits....

If you want to change shift..... just put change shift.....(watever location).. Wind down the window and tell them (Pax), your direction (North/South/East/West).... not asking them their direction/destination.
If you ask... means you are choosing passenger(s)....
LTA can penalises you if for that, if the Ang Mo complains to the Authority with your cab's number.

I guess is that taxi service in ang mo country never ask them about destination. If the destination is from one city to another city like for instance Darwin to Sydney, they may consider not to pick them.
TD should wind down window to say I am going towards the west or east, are you travelling along this direction.

Green TAXI try to interview for sure get coffee at LTA 300 plus fine demarit point and forced rest days , so play safe put CHANGE SHIFTwithout destination can interview LTA also cannot catch you play legal , some TD hooked on easy money on long haul +surcharges so choose every destination playing these tricks and interviews give TD business bad name
When there is no indication of On Call, Changing Shift, Busy, etc, the taxi is fully operational for business. That means the passenger just hop in and tell the TD the destination, and off they go. The TD is not to bargain with the pax.

we are in a consumerist era....but service professionals should be extended to all levels...it would be good to highlight and award dedicated TDs....just like how we did for best foodstalls in TV programmes....we should give more recognition to other services, in this case, the TDs....
put up SERVICE AWARD on Taxis who have done well and stand them out on the streets and also give reward points, rebates etc.! ...e.g.
TDs are the so-called unacknowledged road ambassadors of the world!

cabbie 6mths on the rd nia got Sg Tourism award for TD. Was given
$1000 by his company a tour to Japan....... now tats sometin to work for
n can motivate more to cultivate better service standards
