[Event] Airshow 2012 for Public on Sat n Sun

  S'pore Airshow traffic arrangements

  SINGAPORE: Motorists travelling to Cargo Complex via Changi Coast Road between February 14 and 19, 2012 are advised to use Loyang Avenue.

  This is in conjunction with the Singapore Airshow 2012 which will be held during that period, at Changi Exhibition Centre, located at Aviation Park Road off Changi Coast Road.

  During the period of the event, access to Aviation Park Road will only be granted to vehicles with the Singapore Airshow labels, police and emergency vehicles.
  
  Delay is expected along Changi Coast Road from Xilin Avenue and the East Coast Parkway Expressway during the period of the event.
  
  Cyclists travelling along Changi Coast Road are advised to use the Coastal Park Connector.
  
  Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced.
  
  Vehicles found to have been parked indiscriminately and / or are causing obstruction will be towed away.

  Members, I recall 2 years ago, I was doing transfers for the Airshow, traffic is actually smooth as they open up many different lanes for bus, taxi, car and car with labels. Let's hope this year remains the same. Wish every member Huat arh!

  Yes... only cars, cabs, buses with a AIRSHOW DECAL only.  

  Today... was @ T3 doing arrival.... saw many BMWs 5&7 Series with... AIRSHOW plates...

  2nd days of Airshow.... Not much commando queueing Limo today, except late afternoon.... 11am sharp first batch limo form queue, and take only 45min before 1st Limo move out, Changi Village, HUAT AH!! 50pts easy easy.... Happen to meet some Airshow BMW's drivers, wtf, $9 butt per hour, ooh! sensitive or not JDI? or must edit $..... Realised location charges not started yet, no wonder not much normal cab queueing.... Tomorrow will see the actual action of AIRSHOW... OMG, CDG corporate jobs no takers for tomorrow, all Limo busy at airshow like me? hahaha

  Singapore Airshow tickets almost sold out 08:53 PM Feb 12, 2012 SINGAPORE - Some 70,000 tickets to this year's Singapore Airshow have been snapped up. Organisers expect the remaining 20,000 tickets for the public to sell out over the next three days. Ninety thousand tickets have been set aside for the public, and another 10,000 for corporate partners. The event opens to trade visitors on Tuesday and to the public the following weekend on Feb 18 and 19. Forty-five thousand public tickets have been allocated for each day of the weekend. And organisers said tickets for Feb 18 are close to being sold out. The world's biggest players are gearing up to tap on the Republic's growing aerospace sector, which created 8,000 jobs in the last decade. The Economic Development Board said four in five of jobs created in the aerospace sector went to Singaporeans. Mr Lim Kok Kiang, executive director of Transport Engineering at the Singapore Economic Development Board, said: "The maintenance, repair and overhaul sector will continue to be a key focus. We want to deepen capabilities and move up the value-chain in this. "Manufacturing is emerging as another key pillar of growth for the aerospace industry. At the same time, we are also expanding and extending into aftermarket services, such as aircraft leasing and training, pilot training. All these will create good job opportunities for Singaporeans." Singapore Technologies Engineering has the biggest presence at the airshow, showing off its defence and aerospace wares, plus ideas for a greener future. Around 140,000 delegates and public visitors are expected to pack the event held at the Changi Exhibition Centre. Mr Jimmy Lau, managing director of Experia Events, the organiser for the Singapore Airshow 2012, said: "What we've done is to create more access for everyone, at the same time improve on the local transportation - the shuttle service.
