Rate your driving ability

Now I am not trying to be boastful, but it's something I do think about occasionally.
Yesterday a pax praised me and said my driving was extremely smooth, my accelaration and braking was the ebst she's seen among taxi drivers here.
Ok, la, I admit new vehicle, so I am a bit more careful, who wants to scratch a new car, plus since it's new and only me and the hirer, we have a chance to set a good standard in that vehicle performance can be maintained if we drive properly, such as ensuring no excessive accelaration during the running in etc.
But I do have good driving skils, having been a cop and gone thru the defensive driving, intermediate driving etc, plus I also worked as alimo driver and valet, so Ihave driver many cars, from the best to the lousiest. In fact my limo boss liked giving me his worst cars because he new I would make it last as long as possible.
At one point I used to rate myself as among the the top 5% of drivers in SG, but now I think standard drop a bit, so I would say in the top 15% and sometimes when everything functioning properly in the top 10%.
How would you rate yourselves? Top 10%, Top 2%, or top 20% and so on.
Just curious, not gloating.
Even a supposedly excellent driver like me also got actually knock down a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing, the lights IN HIS FAVOUR. Although it was a very minor one since my speed was around 10-15kmh, I simply overlooked that there was a crossing on both sides on the junction, assumed there was only 1 on the left.
And I am also very lazy sometimes and my parking (whatever position) sometimes leaves much to be desired.
So like to know what other drivers think about their skills or ability.

When i drove a Wish , yes i have numerous compliments from paxes .
Not with KIA or Skoda .
Esp the Wish 2000cc .... every pax love it , clean , quiet , new , smooth .
Diesel engines so far non say anything good .
Perhaps paxes have got more chances hoping into a diesel than a CNG , that's why they felt good sitting inside .

When i drive , i more concern about my own comfort and safety .
Pax is secondary , money also .
I hate to earn quite a bit with Comfort , but nody here pain there pain , like wise , Merc seemed to make more money than KIA , but Merc drive liao ankle painful .

My driving ability sucks, but improving. My route knowledge sucks even more! but also improving. No defensive driving covers driving when you are tired or roads are empty and you being complacent. I just thank God! for surving as a taxi driver until today.

rating for me:drive like tortoise(complaints fr paxs),change gears not smooth,drag low gear too much,change gears too fast before pick up speed,road bumps speed too fast cause car to jump up,don't know how to switch lanes to overtake other cars

I am a fast driver Highway many times 120 km/hr So far 2 minor accident as TD 1 my fault 1 kena bang backside Driving for 14 years Taxi 1 year part time Driven 3 private cars for 10 years No accident although fast but very defensive type of driving Pax mostly happy Cox reach destination

Cedric cheaper than Crown by $10!but no rental free days!at that time i took it cos no more Crowns,it so happen they have a Cedric nobody wants,and furthermore i was jobless and eager and desperate to drive a taxi,so i took it lor!

Recently got this teen charbor laughing after i corner.. I corner at filter lane can really feel the centrifugal force pushing us... Haha...
Oxford road... Corner also pax scared.. Can feel CF pushing... I feel sonata stable when corner.. Untill my loose change drop off from the holder... Haha...
Expressway.. Heavy jam... Die die must go lane 1... Must show pax TD want to reach destination fast n not eat pax time...
slow moving lane... Also change to lane is moving...
from karanji to lim chu kang... Pass karanji reservoir.. Never see hump... Children stunn cuz taxi like flying after over the hump... They were amazed..

My style like yours. Want to finish trip ASAP and show pax I am honest. I also drive fast. Problem starts when pax suddenly change route.
Sonota not good with cornering. Centrifugal force and Sonota cannot agree. I only experiment without passengers and empty roads. Must be carefull. Sonota brakes quite okay.
Going over humps; lucky you got children. I got fat men and women. But they also amused. Because after first hump, I slow down for other humps.

For me
Speed 7/10 (depending on time, traffic and type of pax, older person, female, pregnant all slow, young guys faster)
Cautious 8/10 (Always check before switching lanes etc)
Defensive 9/10
Alert 7/10
Road familiarity 6/10 (become too familiar sometimes and that's dangerous hence my accident)
