i thought they had enough of gear box problems from Sonata .
Now that they move in into Manual gear , u want , u take it , dun one , done , someone else will take it .
Of course manual cars is cheaper , maintenance is lower .
After looking at how "successful" Premier had for their i30 ( fuel consumption low ) , they would want it as well .

Driveability: The i40’s 1.7 litre turbodiesel inline four produces 100kW and 320Nm. It’s a stout unit that has plenty of torque to get the i40’s 1514kg body moving.
There’s the usual amount of turbodiesel throttle lag, but the CRDi engine develops maximum torque between 2000 and 2500rpm so off-the-line performance is brisk.
It’s mated to a six-speed manual as standard, but our tester was equipped with the optional six-speed automatic.
The automatic shifts smoothly and is geared to take full advantage of the engine’s low-end torque (it doesn’t enjoy being revved hard). A pair of shift paddles allow the driver to take manual control of gear selection.
It can be a bit slow to kick down for overtaking, but otherwise the auto is preferable to the taller-geared manual.

In future all taxis' road tax will be base on carbon omissions , so most taxi companies will come out with lower cc taxis .... largely 1700cc diesel .

Well it's all a bit uncertain at this stage. Just last week I took a cab ride in a Crown and I asked the driver when he switching to Sonata. he said next month but not Sonata but new Toyota.
I forgot whether it was another Crown (new) or the Camry, but he said the rent was around $104.
So which is which?
And btw how come you so curious abt CDG's fleet, I thought they your enemy No 1 among companies.
Not that I am their biggest fan, but just asking anyway.

I always interested to discuss what's new from all taxi companies ....
Like to give my most honesty opinion of certain car they launch .
Or else everytime talk Silver or TransCab si bei sian leh ....

Lastly , Hyundai Sonata was a failed project for them .
Cos it only caught fire .
They have set a target to have , the first taxi to be exploded , and that could be i40 .

CDG don't need to compete with Premier Taxi............
Just 1 squeeze, all the rest die cock stand...........until today, you guys still don't realize that...........sigh..........
Because of fair competition, CDG lang lang........but not siao siao........the rest of the companies had to watch your back............
The fate of Smart Taxi, we will know in due course........as for other companies, they are not relaxing also...........
Bad drivers out from CDG, you think their fleet manager don't know?............
Anyway.........Sonata won't bye bye so fast...........at least 10-15 years just like Crown, until today, still so many OTR...............
