Drunk driver hit my taxi and try to run away.

Tonight after I dropped pax at Clarke Quay, I was driving to Mohd Sultan. Right outside UE Square along River Valley a car hit me on the rear right side and also took off my side mirror. The car not only didn't stop, he sped off. I chase him and cornered him at River Valley Close. He came out o his car and I can smell alcohol, I called TP and he was taken away in handcuffs.

Oh no drunk driver. Normally for drunk driver for private car accident unless very serious, i do not advise to call police unless very rich guy driving. Cos under insurance rules. It have them the excuse wash their hand no the case and almost all workshop Will not handle the claim leaving the victim having to claim their insurance instead of third party claim. Unless your taxi company wants to sue him. I advise you check out first

I got it on video. Cause after he hit me I was pissed off and when I caught him I was to angry to think. Should have settled. Only some minor scratches and side mirror gone. Should have settled wt more money in pocket and get outside workshop to touch up. But the young guy big big problem wt police! After I cornered him, he called a few friends to come and try and settle wt me. Luckily I buy size!!!! 8 of his friends came 20mins after accident.

I think it is true drunk driving is not covered but not cover the drunk driver only. His insurance still have to settle the claim and then go after the guy to pay for all legal fees and damages. I have video evidence of him hitting me and speeding off. This guy will have to come out wt at least 20k to settle drunk driving, reckless driving, legal fees and settlement wt SMRT. I should have settled for 5k.... Discount of 15k minus his license gantong. I think repairs will only cost $200-300 only....

Exactly what I told him!! What if u hit a woman or little girl? What if u hit someone's father who is sole breadwinner?? Luckily taxi no feeling and can be repaired, dead person cannot be repaired. If I let him go, yes I may be richer by a few $K but I am sure he will drink and drive again. Then it may not be a taxi anymore but a human being and may be fatal. Better get him off the road now.
His group of friends that came after the accident all drunk also. The traffic police did not allow any of them to drive the car away. They had to call someone who is not drunk to come and drive his car away. Oh ya, after the police handcuffed him and put him in the backseat, he was sleeping soundly and snoring. He was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer with many gauges on the dashboard. Also have his girlfriend and his name and blood type in the side window. I guess u know the type of driver he is. I was driving abt 60kmh and he was probably driving 90-100kmh. Freaking dangerous!!!

If see Jiao Kia dun give chance. Most younger SG man got no integrity one. So either settle cash on the spot or make sure he tio gao gao. See driver exhibit the slightest aggression, dun talk liao.Then ownself buy size a bit also advantage!
