Question to ask Taxi drivers.

A few days ago, I met an accident with a blue comfort taxi, a name of sonota labelled behind the booth. As it was nothing serious, just a few scratches of paint that came off, the driver then insist that I need to pay for the damage only so I agreed as we will be dealing with this privately. I led him to my workshop at defu lane and got the paint to be re-spray, the person there say the car needed to be retain for a day to be complete. The taxi driver said due to his car being retain, he ask me for more money as he will be having loss of income, he asked me for additional $150 as he needed to pay his taxi daily rental. The more he talk, the more I have the feeling this driver is trying to chop me off. So my question is does all taxi drivers required to pay $150 for daily rental fee? Is this true?

$150 is cheap already... Rental/day is already $110. He got no taxi to drive how??? Can't earn $... Dun forget newspaper say TD can earn $7k min easily In actually you have to compensate him Rental+$7k/24days= about $400/day.

If the cab is in workshop.... who pays for the daily rental ?
In addition, His daily income revenue will be affectd too... no $ to put food on the table...
U can consider yourself lucky that the driver didn't make an accident claim on you and your no-claim discount with your current insurer will be gone. In addition to the accident access u need to pay upfront, which may lead to $2,000 damage. Some drivers may even go to the extend to report injury and you will be penalised with 3 demerit points and fine by LTA.
So, after reading my post, u still have that "FEELING" of being chopped?

Ya, if U are at fault be grateful at the offer, pay, get written agreement not to pursue or report, thank him and run. wat is $150 these days. You bump into BM or Merc, thousands of dollars to settle privately..

If you kiss my car ( not taxi though )... & act that I will chop u..... I will make sure u (your insurer to be exact) will be paying for my Europe Holiday trip for 2.....

$150 very cheap liao lah.....CDG standard loss of income is $80 a day and min is 2 days $160 cos they need insurer to take picture and authorise repair. So he can shake leg at home take $160. You pay him $150 he send to workshop only can take $50 nett and rest one day only leh.....So you are not being chop. But of course minor damage can private settle. If big one might just report insurance.
The driver very kind to you already. That time got one car kanna me I close one eyes take from him $500. Then I return cab to company damage on bumper only deduct from me about $200 so I nett $300. So you say who's parang sharper? Lol

must say you very lucky, if you kena me $150 to settle? you wait long long $500 min for rental , loss of income , plus shock injuries

In Singapore we talk about money, if you want to drive in this city and hit someone's back, you gotta pay. If not you pay insurance cover, insurance pay for your fault. You want to complain, go to his taxi company, but if you hit his boot its you at fault, his taxi company will not entertain you too. If this is your first time, take it as a lesson on the road and drive carefully in future.

TS care to elaborate what happened? Direct hit at back? Or side swipe? Some case is 50/50 so dun pay blindly. I suspect it is not so simple? If not the TD agree to such low compensation?

Nothing for you to lose if you are private car, taxi uncles will never want to go for the hassle of reporting unless is very serious case..........
1 thing about CDG, very minor case, very fast settle 1, sometime lost of income not even 1 day........those assessor at Loyang 4th floor specially train 1........$80 so easy to claim?..........lol

You mean the Patrick guy? That guy dunno got jiak lui one or not. Seen him wearing a nice Rolex the other day I go do report. Unless his pay damn high...
