Newbie Asking Questions

  Hi Sifus, Will be driving taxi as relief to try out next week as not much choice. Questions: 1) What's the industry practice when it comes to holidays and you don't want to drive? I mean the rental. 2) Also, if the vehicle is to be sent for servicing by the hirer, and I'm driving day shift, how will the rental payment be like too as I can't use the car. Thanks.

  Answer to Question 1:

  No Fixed Rule... Muz pre arrange with Hirer...

  Some Practices as Follows:

  1. RELIEF Pay Full Rental Every Day - including Off Days... Regradless of driving or not driving... the cab will still be at your disposal during your shift hours since u are paying rental...

  2. RELIEF NO Pay Rental on Off Days - you will not be able to use the cab in tis case... as you never pay rental...

  3. RELIEF and HIRER Cover each other on Off Days - U OMO on the day your hirer is off... He OMO on your off day... the one OMO on tat day take care of the Entire Day's rental..

  Answer to Question 2:

  tis one must clarrify with your hirer...

  some practices as follows:

  1. if u going to drive after hirer send for service... den can arrange a pro rated rental... or the downtime rebates be given to u...

  2. take the off day on servicing day since your hirer sending...

  for hirer and relief relationship to last long...

  muz arrange in advance regarding: Rental, Servicing, Breakdowns, Minor Maintainance, Handover Grace Period etc...

  but along the way... must give and take... not too calculative...

  it will go a long way...
