Do you intend to drive teksi for the rest of your life? What's your plan? Drive while looking for a job? Waiting for better offer? You guys think now drive teksi can tan jiak?

For the start,it was like riding a donkey while looking for a horse for me.But ride & ride,i still cannot find any horses in Singapore beside in STC.And till now,i am still riding my donkey.

For those previous job like class 3 delivery driver, not much education,,take home 1.8k, work 6 days(10hours), carry heavy stuff till bone break.driving a teksi is other alternative to tan jiak.at least it pays better...
Those who earn 4-5k last time.cant find back their same job and pay because old and
expensive.
We are being replaced by cheaper better faster FT.
For the past 2mths of
driving, leave the current job if is under $1.8k work 6days a week.more than $2k, you are stuck in between.More than $3k, you can say bye bye to sgforum/taxi driver.

TS’s questions very chim, have to think long long.. But since today chia pai in workshop, TCSS lah.. I joined TD not cos lost job to FT or no job. I was doing well in my career, quite good pay/propects. Everytime I got retrenched, I can find another that pays about same, if not better within short-time, before the retrenchment benefits used. But I quit my job cos of own special issue which I don want to talk about here. At first, TD is just temporary, but after a while, I find its not too bad. Earn less but can be enough to be happy. I also met a lot of Tds that command my respect. They are the hard-working upright ones, helpful, self-sacrificing always thinking for family, simple. More respect for them, then the rich and powerful but use underhanded ways. I met a driver 5 years ago, says can earn 300+ nett per day (off only a few days per month). I believe him. He skips rope everyday to keep fit and drive 16 hours a day w short breaks and mileage of 700km + per day. His motivation to chiong? His father was sick and monthly hospital bills alone already 3.5k. How long he last at this rate I dunno but he motivated me to make the most out of wat I hv and TDg. I used to admire my ex boss.. 2 landed properties here and other countries, cars, 5 figure pay and his wife also 5 figure pay in civil service…didn’t want to hv kids want to enjoy life and chase more $. A few years ago I saw in obituary page he died of illness at 47...

Back to the questions, …I dono if will continue TD until when,..but it doesn’t really matter… When I die, I can say at least I am better off than my ex boss and a lot of other ppl and I can say I do not use any underhanded way to make my $$$ and I hv family and kids. Those singles can also die happy and say at least they hv 1 true friend or other own reasons/achievement…Other TDs will hv their own achievements... So TS, what about U? Ex Engineer? Hammer? Is your ex boss Thor or Low Thia Khiang? If it’s the latter, can join WP/opposition ?,,, good prospects leh.. I think…ha ha

aiya this 1 very hard leh. I would of course like a better job with better pay etc.
but the question is, where can find 1 like this, own time own target. me drive only 5-7 hours on weekdays, sometimes weekends that as well.
where got job which will pay this type of salary - say just 6 hours work for a salary of 75 bucks on average. so i suppose i will be doing this for some time yet.
then there is question of saving money as weel. td very hard to be disciplined, because you dont get it in 1 lump sum, so my spending is very erratic. i really hope 2013 i can save properly for retirement in years to come or hopefully buy a flat when prices fall [if that happens]
my only hope is for my friend to faster pass his law exams and say within 10 years open his own firm and i wouldnt mind working for him as a legal adviser [ to take notes, draft court papers etc]. but of course i will want at least a salary of 2.5k to begin with, i wonder whether that will be possible

I was an engineer. Pay is good but sick of all the office politics and more and more FT coming in. Was in the semicon industries for almost a decade after 10 years in the navy as regular. Iron rice bowl but buay tahan the military life style. KNN little thing buay song officer want to charge me. Talk loud want to charge me for insubordination. SMLJ? I kanna court martialed when almost ORD thanks to my CO cos he already eyeing me for a long long time. So I just finish the trial and fuck off a free man.
My ex boss not Thor or Low lah. To earn a living as a TD really not easy. Buy want to pass time and earn some makan money ok lah....But to raise a family and pay for house really difficult. Last time ok can buy condo send kids to uni if dun gamble horse. Now even borrow ah long also not enough...Haizzzz

at the moment , i still looking for a job that can allowed me to play badminton every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon if can , and i can watch soccer every Saturday and Sunday ....salary little bit less $2500 with CPF is okay .
And only max 8 hours of work everyday like now .
I dun mind work on 6 days , but either one Tuesday or Thursday off day .
And own time own target go to work like driving taxi .

can. ..easy just widen scope of radar...but not in sgp lah.. In sgp..wait until taxi flag down bcome $10 then can find.. one of reason i choose td is cos no cpf deduction..more take home pay leh...
