My Meter hung and could not be reset. SMRT Epica

  I am driving a SMRT Epica and yesterday my Meter hang and could not be taken out of Hired mode. I went to SMRT service this morning and overheard another SMRT TD having same problem. The SMRT technician taught him over the phone how to resolve the problem. The SMRT meter has the ability to be put into "Fix Fare" mode so when u ferry ur family or friend and do not want to charge them u can put $0.01. It seems that sometimes the meter hangs when in that mode, this is my 1st time after 3.5 mths so it is not too often. So the following steps is how to resolve it:

   

  There are 2 Red wires with fuse holders connected to the battery. Open the fuse cover and there should be a 5amp and 7.5amp fuse. Pull out 7.5amp fuse for 10 secs and put back fuse. The meter should have reset in "For Hired". The other 5amp fuse is for the ERP device, the tech told me if ERP device no power then check the fuse. Cause the fuse sometimes gets loose. He say this are 2 common problems that can fix by urself.

  Think they got back up battery. Because for TC and CDG both I send in for car battery replacement they take our the battery the MDT and meter still on. The rest of the company I am not sure. Maybe those company without MDT meter is connected direct to the battery.

  "Fix Fare" mode useful, hmmm.. Dunno if TC meter can do or not?

  If u remove the terminals from battery u will need tools and u will also get silicon grease on ur hands. Messy and hard work. SMRT connected 2 external wires wt a fuse holder for the MDT/taxi meter and ERP device so it is easy to disconnect. There is no battery back up also. The fix Fare very useful. Sometimes I accidently press Hire button accidently, I just enter Fix Fare of $0.01 so record on MTD will only show that amount.

  in my whole life as taxi driver , i seriously never face my taximeter to hang one .....

  I hang the taximeter , got lah .

  Except when my pax pay me fix fare , then it will hang ..... hang all night long .

  Then alight them , sekali no hang , LOL .

  Maybe got very less pax ... that's why never hang .

  Maybe Charles trying to tell her his business so good until hang ?

  U all dunno what he meant ? hahahahah

  Maybe his tummy too big caused the taximeter to hang , LOL .

  i try before leh...

  start meter,than k1,k4 together...cannot fix fare.
