Bowahs's Taxi Pledge:
Pledge what?? lan sai lah, now like united nation, what pledge you want?? pledge for taxis driver better lah
We the taxi drivers of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as One united Drivers
Regardless of TC, cdg, silver, smrt, smart, prime and others
To build a equal brotherhood taxis society
Base on cutting lanes and a yao mentality
So as to achieve our targets, profit and happiness,
inorder to pay our taxis companies
We the Taxi Drivers of Singapore,
Pledge Orselves as Yao Guis and Taikos,
Regardless of OMOs, Reliefs or Jiak Ba Buay Pao Type,
To Chiong Our Daily Collection,
Based on Sweeping and Q-ing at Taxi Stands,
So as to Achive Daily Rental, Fuel Cost,
And Three Meals for Our Family.
Hahaha...didn't know that Taxi drivers are so creative and innovative..knn...anyway, tks Ah Khoon for bringing in my old pledge.
But actually, talking about it, our national pledge should change as we are now more multi racial with more kind of residents living here, and things are no more base on equality, justice and progression, which is more individualistic in a sense.

Yes brother,
But I would like to add that
Tho we can be brother or brudder in our one united trade of TD, but on the road, we are challenging each other in a way, and the relationship for relief and hirer can at time be damaged by fuel and rental prices.
Therefore, in a long run, TD tends to become more inward looking, and as a loner, they may end up embracing individualism that ultimately link to more conservative thinking. Unllike other job, like even my casket or ship repair job, we work as a team and have more chances to freely communicate in a real brotherhood term.
In my analysis of TD behavorial in SIngapore context, I find that there is a lack of expression for TD, most of them so wanted to talk but worry that they might be out of pace with the society or that they might end up talking nonsensical issue, and therefore choose to be silent, but when I open up a TD mind, he or she will talk non stop, about his driving adventure to his family issues, Taxi companies and all those fark up LTA rules. And you can see the true expression of a TD, as a good listener, a conversation with a TD is never a boring one.
And after a good conversation with them, you find they start to smile again and really relaxing.
But then after the conversation, they go back to drive again, and time is a factor to them and all the same old forlorn style start again, as a TD myself, I find that we lack the time to socialise, the time to engage ourself with friends and gatherings, which is good for human as the nature required it.

There are jobs with less opportunities to interact/socialise…then there are always chatty paxs to “entertain u and keep u sane…and as you said b4, paxs in casket driving are always very quiet…lol
Every TD start driving alone, after a while, our character become siao siao.........
Than those beh tahan type will try to make some TD friends, joining group is one of the best way to know those Pig/Dog friends...........
Those continue to drive without making friend, we call them the Si Jiao..........drive, go home, drive, go home..........and this type of TD is always the goodie boy within the company, bo tio complain, tio a lot of compliment from pax, servicing never late, taxi very very the clean...........Company love them the most.........but very rare species loh..........
