Originally posted by CookiesM:Got my TDVL last week. Have checked out & registered with CDG.
With my family commitments, I am looking at day relief on weekdays. However, to cover the cost, I would need to do at least 12hrs.
There is a high chance that I might have to do night driving as in between I would need to fetch my ger back from school and prepare dinner. The staff remarked that their pool of female drivers so far have no issues where personal safety is concerned for night driving. But, given their "customer-oriented policy", I might encounter problems loading luggages as I am short and do have some back issue.
Besides, getting advice on whether it is safe for female driver to do night? I would like to find out whether worse case, OMO, drive 6hrs in the day and resume again at night is feasible or not. And which are the recommended coy for female driver.
P/s: I have tried to find out as much as possible b4 starting this topic. Seek understanding from all the seniors here if my qtns are too typical for a newbie.
you can try starting to drive on Sat & Sun 2 days per week to get the experience.
As at airport, when passenger see u short female driver, they will do the loading
themselves.
To all the Seniors,
I am not a troll & not banned from this forum yet.
To join and start a thread at this time is not an accurate indicator of my stress level. In fact, I have trawl through the internet since Oct 2012 & read many posts by those regular Seniors.
I gave much thots abt starting this thread as I don't know how you guys would react to a female TD since I can't find a dedicated thread where all the elusive female TD gather. As PoolMan said, it is good if female TD can network and help each other :)
I MIA cos I busy attending CDG course and networking with rare female TD who appear at the same course. Finally, with it out of the way, I am now able to plan and see how to proceed from here.
And Storeman Chua, thanks for your assistance. I will drop you a PM to gather more details.
Rgds, CookiesM
I know $$ is important, but just dun end up like the tampines case, mother work in macdonald and all hell break loose.
Taxi driving on the other hand is tiring and stressful in term of physical for seniors and for the younger one, both mental (due to new to road and trade) and physical. If you do not mind getting older than your age, by all means.
Split shift needs a very solid motivation, because most drivers will do one shift, once reached home, rest all the way, to drive again is like going back to hell. And if you think you can do all your house chores like prepare dinner and clean the house after driving a Taxis for 6 to 8 hrs, then after that go out again for another 6 hrs, you might be end up ki siao.
Well, it no harm trying.

best is drive 6hrs than keep taxi.
Then must find a hirer who is willing to relief to her for at least 8hrs at odd timming. For a guy to find that, it is very hard, for a lady, I think it will be easier, cos alot of lau tiko around, lady with some soft talk, everything also ok liao.
FYI, i never relief for lady hirers, pardon me, I find them very demanding and stick by the rules like military, and give you no room for consultation and negotiation. Even working, a man boss is much better than a lady boss, that is why I throw my casket key back to my lady casket boss.

As Chief pool said, OMO, not the way....I OMO 1 month already cannot tahan.... Night driving, really must be fast, even I got a fast machine also can kenna makan by blue and yellow..... sometimes dangerous too, meaning dangerous driving by some night drivers on the road.......
As for relief or OMO, you dun need 12 hours to cover costs lah, if really need 12 hours, then better not come in this trade, cos 12 hours straight driving is very tiring and end of the day, you don't make money at all......
He meant slow in other thing like bed...hehehe
