What's your family/friend reaction when you become a TD?

When I first started driving my family and friend is like....SMLJ? Drive taxi? Cannot one lah....the most 2 months give me I throw key.....hahaha

TD and Bus can actually earn quite a large sum of money. Just many people don't know about the facts only.

I'm the sole breadwinner in the house, my family of cos support my decision, if not jiat sai??! but it wasn't easy at all. Totally change of lifestlye....
As for friends and other ppl, why I bother? If they sees me, they'll know lor correct?
Once I drove past at Lau Pat Saut saw the chow ang mo who force me to resign and gave my post of a so call indian foreign trash. I looked at him and just drove past him to pick up another pax.
So to all newbie TDs, always remember this... you dun need to bother wat others think of u as long as u know what is right and best for urself and ur own family!

My close friends and family knows my situation n were quite supportive…other friends, ex-colleagues give me tat kind of look when they know… those “friends� I throw away liao…

still can remember this bastard played dirty cut my pay by 40%. when i confronted him, still dared to tell me that's the pay the new fella which under studied me for 3 months is getting... and that is suppose to be my extra hand to relief my workload.
so, i'm not angry to the foreign staff just to the company that does this...

It's just another job .
Between year 1995 and year 1999 , i was in seriously debt , not very bad lah , just piled up credit card bills up to about $14,000 .
I never loan from anyone ...... not my style .
Not even my wife i loan money from .
Work sure die one .
Given $2000 i also die , eat also not enough .
Earn , keep and take TVDL lor .
As soon as i got my TVDL , i started repaying my debt .
Yah lor , TDVL and selling my old flat solve my problems .
Without taxi driving , i seriously dunno if i ever will clear my debt .
Slowly slowly drive taxi can clear lah .
Still must be discipline .
Later because of driving a cab ....... my life changed .
Changed alot , see alot , learnt alot .
Apply alot ....... my life is better because of taxi driving .
Now i am returning those back to the society , social contributions .
Here in sgforums , hm hm , hahahahaha

when friends and relative saw and knew i driving cab ....... maybe from my confidence , they knew i am doing ok in taxi driving . Can charlie makan lah , earn a bit , not need borrow .

In fact , when u think working inside a shop u see alot of people , not until u drive a cab , u get to see even more , from all type of people .
Of cos u have to enjoy meeting people , then u appreciate this line .
U meet , u talk , u learn .
Click and make friends .
I go one level up , click and have sex with woman , hhahahahah

i rem today the day i got my tvdl, the next day apply for divorce.. since than, life more downs than ups.. everybody got their own shit story, no need to compare.. it only big shit or small shit.. i presume everybody got their own shit story.. drive taxi cannot be our 1st choice.. whose 1st choice want to drive taxi? cum cum, let share..

My story almost the same as Poolman, but my debt is mountain high........
Than all my friends never siam me, in fact I chose to be North Korea, I actually siam all my buddy and friends in my first few years as TD........
Lucky my wife bo siam me.......
My turning point as TD was when I met my taxi mentor........last time, drive Crown, no friends, no kakis, driving alone for 12-15 hours each day, nearly ki siao liao........
My mentor bring me in to taxi stand group, from there onwards, no turning back liao..........
How I met my mentor?......my taxi servicing, so I go home, than taxi ready, I flag a cab off the road, which happen to be my mentor, like that loh, last time no Internet forum leh.........LoL

Frankly speaking, my debt not clear by taxi driving hor, taxi driving can clear mountain debt? My foot ok........mainly is from 4D la, my luck always like that, almost die liao, 4D will strike, sometime tio big, but most time tio a bit a bit to save fire..........
Only last year July, than bye bye to TD leh, thinking back still phobia..........
