Old news liao... Throw my key last December. Started working as a part time weekender Taxi Driver (morning shift) since Nov 2011 and driving a Comfort Sonata. I passed my TVDL in Apr 2011 and officially quitted in Dec 2012. During this 13 / 14 months of driving...one word to describe Taxi driving....Shiok. I always enjoyed my weekend session....waiting for my buddy to pass me the car every sat and sun....la kopi with him for 30 mins before starting the engine. Then look forward to my first pax. most of the days which I drove (>95%), I hit my target income. Taxi driving is not difficult nor is it very easy. I enjoyed talking to paxs except some snobbish indians. Overall it was a great experience. The question is why do I want to quit ??? Firstly, it is due to my job as a regional sales manager. I travel very frequently due to the nature of my job. Sometimes I flew off Monday morning and arrived Friday night. Weekends were burnt driving taxi. After about a year, I felt the strain. Secondly, my sonata is getting koyak....gear box problem persists despite several workshop servicing. Once last Dec I travelled in ECP throughout with high rpm coz the gear refused to upshift after alighting pax from AP. Thirdly, second half of 2012, I noticed traffic jams are getting more frequent. CTE, AYE , and some other roads. A lot of tress pruning ....WTF...Jams prohibit good earnings. TVDL is still a prized item that I will keep...as i am about the same age as chief pool....anytime can tio pok by company... Taxi Driving will be my saviour.... PMET will someday be replaced by Foreign Talent... Let's hope that TD will never be replaced by FT......

Closed my UOB account last week. Withdrew $3100....song ah This is what I call forced saving... Those credit card , ezlink, and dunno WTF transactions, don't withdraw from the bank account. Let it accumulate. When you withdraw after few years of driving....you will see $$$. Also, the passbook....dun lost hor UOB charged $15 for replacement....chargeble also if you want to close the account and passbook is lost.

Regarding workshop servicing, please avoid CDG Loyang branch. knn cannot solve my gear box problem hear say they are good at accident repair braddle cdg servicing and trouble shooting better

Give me one taxi only drive Tuesday to Friday i also want .
Drive everyday then come and tell us the word "Shiok" ....

If working full time, still driving taxi weekend for what?.......
TS also don't sound like those money very tight people, cashless transaction can put inside bank untouch........

Today is my last day of taxi driving, tmr driving pte class 4 bus liao, no need to think of rental and high fuel price, got fix off on every sunday, earn less then cabby, but will have more time for family . si bei song.

can request uob to waive off the passbook replacement charges if you are a long time customer. -
Long time in term of doing banking businessness with them, if you just put within the range of 10k as deposit, tan ku ku

normally don't put big sum, just so happen to lost it, request for replacement and also request them to waive, they are willing.

hehe..the key word is willing, maybe you get a good frontdesk service lady, or that you are yandao (handsome) and maybe TS and me not so yandao, that is why got to pay for it. Hehehe. -

UOB lan sai free replacements ...
I have been with UOB since i started driving a cab with CDG .
After i left CDG , still with UOB .
Last year my ATM was held inside the Cash Depposit Machine ... by right they should return me my ATM card , but once i reported , "Security reason" , that card considered void .
Lost card $5 replacement .
Free ki lan ar .... Good money for them .
