New iPhone app for taxi drivers

  Hi all! I want to make an app that has real benefits for Taxi drivers, so I am doing a survey now with everyone:

  How many of you have problems finding passengers? Would an app that shows the current taxi queue lengths be useful to you guys? It works very simply: you open the app and it shows a map of all the taxi stands close to you, and indicates how many people are waiting for cabs at the stands right now. 

   

  Please let me know your feedback and any suggestions are welcomed!

  Some other ideas include: 

  app to help you find relief drivers, app to help you match up with regular passengers. let me know if they are useful because it'll be very rewarding for me to make an app that has real value!

  Bro , i trying to siam passengers flagging for my cab leh .... how ?

  Outside CBD many paxes after 8pm , i dun need an app to tell me "Little India many passengers , need taxis , members nearby can try ."

  As for regular customers service , i have been there .... can create , but no point .

  Those who required such services , could be that area very jam , like Hillcrest area ......

  Traffic jam area .

  Nasty paxes etc ....... can try , but not sure if it will be utilised to the max .

  Intially i wanted to make app also, but found out actually not many drivers that use smartphone are interested and majority of drivers don't have smartphone.

  Those use smartphone mainly watch video.. LoL

  Anyways, there are 2 apps out there for pax and cab drivers. For pax to make booking without going thru respective companies.

  One is Cabzz Finder (Pax) / Cabzz Cabby (TD) both by Cabzz Private Limited

  and an international one, goCatch (can use in Singapore and some oth country)

  Yup the app would be free to download but right now I'm looking at mayb a few cents per refresh?

  Hi Poolman, can you help elaborate on how this app should work? How frequently do you guys need to find relief/partners, and how urgent? Is it usualy like you need to find one next week, or is it more like you need to find one for the later half of the day?

  Anyone else thinks this is more useful than an app that helps find pax?

  TS don't waste time if you try to charge. Unless your apps booking come with booking fee Appreciate you trying to help, but taxi driving can be very complicate but yet simple.Don't It.s like passenger trying to look for taxi during the super demand time, where got time to Look at your apps. Only crazy passenger will use to indicate their position whereas taxi Driver will be very busy with their booking call or doing interview to get their desire destinations. Than the off peak time, passenger will be busy selecting the type of taxi they wish to get And this off peak time passenger where got time to used, It would be better you come up a booking system passenger can get a faster confirm Booking like paying a current booking fee $5 as example. The booking fee could be higher Or lower subject you think which figure work better for both party But the booking fee must be accepted by Lta which I doubt so. Anyway. For your info, you are not the first one trying to have a system which you propose Way before you long ago somebody try to do and do you see them being use by both Passenger and the taxi driver?will

  Thanks for the detailed feedback! Yup I would not go blindly into developing an app that nobody uses, that's why I am trying to find that out here. 

  Sorry if I'm ignorant, but is the booking fee pocketed by the taxi company or the drivers right now? Are you saying that a booking app would be more useful? Because one of my idea is to let passengers bid for their ride, so the higher you pay, the faster you get a taxi. Would you use something like that?

  I haven't research on LTA's regulations, but do you have some links to where it says the booking fee must be regulated by Lta?

  For Comfort & Citycab normal taxi(not sure about Benz Limo),the levy pocketed by taxi company is $0.40 (Current Call) & $1.00 (Advanced Job).Hope this help!

  Maxi cab jobs is $9..........

  Willing party lor, we bid the job than prepare to give GST lor..........

  So you mean the cabby only get $38 to $43 after all deductions?BTW,thanks for the info!

  Don't work that way, is cash jobs, so you collect from customer first..........

  Than CDG will bill you call levy..........

  Knn, last time bill by monthly, si beh shiong, imagine you bid 10 jobs=$70, take money no hard pain, give money, si beh hard pain..........

  Than they change to weekly, I think currently still weekly, less pain............

  Tia gong, maxi cab drivers, GST can amount to thousand dollar 1 hor...........
