[Event] Trans-Pacific Partnership 16th round negotiation

The 16th round of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations will take place at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore from March 4-13, 2013.
Stakeholder Event
The Stakeholder Engagement Event is scheduled from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
Tables to display and distribute TPP-relevant materials will be set up for stakeholders who request one, on a first-come-first-served basis.
At the event, stakeholders will have the opportunity to raise questions and share views directly with negotiators and other stakeholders.
This will be followed by a Stakeholder Briefing with the Chief Negotiators of each TPP delegation from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
UPDATE: Singapore has just announced that they will accommodate stakeholders, on a first come-first serve basis, who wish to make presentations, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

Not bad .....
Last year very little Mega Corporate event like MICE and Conventions .
Hope this one good .....

Dun ask me wtf they negotiating , i just know this people need taxis .
Those without Credit Card machine in their cabs ...... good luck .
What i understand these people , no cash one when taking cabs , hahahahah .
Yup , all on Corporate cards . Got cash lah , but many will pay by Credit cards .

Why such event good ?
Airport busy mah ..... busier than the already busy AP .
No good meh ?
The few main hotels will be more packed than usual of the quiet month of March .
Holiday Inn Atrium , Furuma Riverfront , Kings Copthrone , Miramar , Gallery Hotel , Studio M , Mandarin Hotel , Park Hotel Clarke Quay etc etc .... will have more arrivals and departures .
Of course other hotels also will have their guest from this event .

Due to the fact it was at Grand Copthrone Waterfront , Clarke Quay as usual , will be even more packed .

Hopefully they will solve those taxis problems .......
Outside CBD , a little bit of problems except 6-8pm .
Especially from 4pm to 5pm .
After 8pm , good luck to them .
Morning will have little bit problem .
A while only ...

Not guarantee , but might ..... esp early morning departure .

This event is for govt officials. Dun think it's good for taxi biz.

Trans pacific implied the countries around the pacific ocean, from US of A to canada to japan and along the coast line that include city like shanghai, HK, viet, thai malaysia, singapore, hawaii, philipines and so on.
This are all about trade talks, import and export taxation, free trade zones, farming restriction, stakeholders rice bowl, like for example, if china is to produce more rice, it might destroy vietnam stakeholder, who are the rice farmers, therefore thru such convention, thing will be properly spell out on the tons of rice each can produce and so on.
Singapore, being wanting to be the geneva of asia, is a great neutral place for many parties to come together, and most holders tends to choose singapore due to it nice location, and good transportation like airlines and taxis

One fact remains .....If i get one job to Airport , will be better than getting a call to Bishan / AMK and Yishun .
Cos once convention , AP piang , connections as good as 100% .
Not sure about connections at Yishun .
Anyway going to Bishan AMK and Yishun type of trips , i rarely encounter .

Q: Do you regard the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade arrangement (TPP) a part of the U.S. rebalancing strategy?
Yan Xuetong : I think the TPP is just an economic banner to cover the U.S. political goal. Their political goal is to unite as many countries as possible in the Asia-Pacific region and to make them America's friends, and to get more political support from those countries as U.S. rivalry with China gets more heated.
But I don't think the TPP can be established in next 10 years, because most of these countries in the region cannot meet the economic standards required of them to join. It is very difficult even for Japan.

That's is why Asia had never come out with a Union using one Asia Dollars,
Because it see the infeasibility of european unions and euro, now german and french have to support not only their own citizen, but also the PIGS and many others -

Not really, corporate card can also be issue when one go overseas, and there is a limit to it, it is given so that ah kong can track your moveable and spending, without corporate card, staff can anyhow claim here and there, during my time when there is no card facility, pax alway ask me to make up the fares....
In today corporation, it is no more a perky one, that is also why SIA business and first class is not doing well, because organisation are now more prudent on their executive spending, if you take a business class without board approval, you paid yourself
