It's something we should think serious , taxi to run on petrol ?
Base on current retail prices for petrol , i dunno if it is feasible to drive on petrol ?
One Litre 13 km ?
For me it's ok .....
Say like 250km i used everyday , roughly 20 litre of petrol needed , if base on 13km per litre .
Let's say if retail prices with discount per litre $2 .
$40 ...... 25% more than diesl .
Take Comfort .... per litre $1.16 ?
If 250km x $1.16 = $29
$11 difference between a Comfort and a Prius , depends on how good old Sonata consumption will be .
If Prius flag down $3.50 , compare to Sonata $3.20 .
$0.30 extra per trip .
13 quality paxes $3.90 extra ......
Drive Prius must see open .
At the moment , never think so much .
I drive my Skoda better for now .
K5 is a big no for me .....
Must see what happened after April ....... will be changes for sure .
Prius I confirm take...
Korean brand $133.75
Japanese brand $120 on petrol
Sorry KIV

prius is hybrid.. .fuel consumption is around 20km/l i think...
seriously, i used to drive a civic hybrid, which is less efficient than a prius, my fuel consumption on the road was 14km/l. a friend of mine who is driving the 2009 prius gets 17km/l. thats like 50%highway and 50%normal. if mainly highway then concumption is less and if mainly non highway consumption is more.
i once drove from singapore to penang estimate about 800km in my civic hybrid on 1 tank of petrol the civic petrol tank is 45l. works out to be 17 closer to 18 km/l on highway driving

good calculation, solid 'analysis' .
same offer from my hirer plus added incentives haha
you take and be hirer he throw in 1 day free rental
you take and be hirer and drive day he throw in 3 days free rental
drive for one year
offer valid till national day 2013
If the prius can clock 18km/l, it is good enough. (petrol around $1.9/l)
definitely cheaper than diesel cabs that runs at 10km/l (diesel is $1.32/l)
if you clock daily 300km, diesel cab (say kia magentis, 10km/l, rental $100/day), diesel cost = $39.60
For the Prius, 300km, petrol at $1.9/l and consumption is 18km/l, petrol cost = $31.70.
The more you run, the more savings.
If taxi run by petrol, rental must be very low.........
$120 + petrol?........siao ah!!!..........
Bear in mind, not only on consumption of fuel, you also must calculate $50 worth of petrol, how much is the return?.........
So if $50 of petrol, return only $150(I quote the higher side, according to horse mouth, sometime lower than that), by the time you break even(according to rental of $120), got to use another $50 of petrol again, and this will exhaust your earning in long run, you will feel, everyday peng steering just to pump petrol.........
2 of my friends driving Honda Airwave purely petrol, rental only $69.xx, no problem at all, the different in rental compensate the fuel different..........
This also apply to those high fc diesel taxi, but due to the low cost of diesel currently, CDG at $1.16, $50 worth of diesel still worth driving in long run..........
And some company call volume not so high, than you drive petrol taxi di di need to empty look for pax also si beh jiak lut, if kanna Tuas South Ave 14, OBK, empty all the way out to Jurong, eat your petrol like hell..........
And lastly, from what I know, purely petrol driven taxi is only for those jiak ba buy pau type TD, hu dang bo dang never mind, as long rental low low, can use taxi to do other thing, can liao..........

Not so jiak liat lah....My Wish run on petrol $50 can yield $250-$280 returns liao....
According to my friend driving the Prius pte car full tank about $100-$105 can travel 1200km-1400km
So the yield will be at least $1000-$1200 for a full tank. For me to yield a return of $250 I only need $25 of petrol. Although a bit higher then my Wish currently but at least can get a new vehicle and less the hassle of pumping CNG.
siow ah ? hire a taxi ? my calculation base on my 13 quality paxes type of driving , as half shift , omo ? siow ah ?

If like what you had stated, than not bad wo..........
Than those diesel taxi can go jiak sai liao.........
