What will you do if its your 2nd day of work as a TD?

  Saw this from my friend's post in his facebook; I gonna join the club soon, pending to start my TDVL course this April. (As relief)

  

  If you are the TD who are starting work for the 2nd day. How would you react? After reaching the destination, the FT told you she only have $4 to pay you since you gone the wrong way. 

  According to my friend, this TD starts as full time hirer eversince he was retrenched 3 mths ago.

  Yah, no excuse for not paying a discounted fare. But $4? I hope that FT gets booted out of SG soon.....

  Discount must be reasonable. If not what you think? Since you start the thread, you should also give your view. Opinion can be right or wrong. If you take your time to read at this forum, already there is many opinion on such issue. Gave your opinion first before you ask. If not what answers you want in the first place when you started this new topic.

  My point of view; would still be whether if i go the wrong way, FT will still have to pay the fare. The most discount $2 from total fare. 
  
  The reason I post here, is I'm seeking the advise from the members here. Like how you deal with such customers if you happen to kanna such issue. 
  
  I understand there are many threads here, however, like many have said, when in doubts, just ask, isn't it?

  Yes, I agree with you too. 2 dollar is a good enough as a good will But for those ft, police station is a better choice if they cannot agree to the 2 dollar discount But again, for anyone to become td, homework is also important about driving a taxi Being away for long time is never a excuse, or maybe should not even choose to be Taxi driver in the first place. If being new driver, remember, always let pax know and ask for refer route. Then this Kind of situation can be avoid.

  Yah, Picked 1 auntie today at Clementi say go Bukit Panjang, say want to go Bukit Panjang Plaza. I asked which way you want to go, as car direction was towards jurong. She said Bukit Batok. I say OK, drive until past Clementi Mall, then she say I go the long way. I asked her again, which way you want to go by, then she say Bukit Timah... I told her bukit timah and bukit batok 2 different directions, bukit timah i u turn bukit batok i go straight....say correctly lah.....

  Make u turn at ave 6 there, continue nnk say far lah......i go salah lah..... lim peh hot liao, told her off, "auntie, you tell me wrong direction, not I go salah hor.......!"

  kept quiet all the way, reach BP fare was $12.85, again nnk say I jalan salah, I told her again, "It's YOU who give SALAH direction, NOT I JALAN SALAH!!! pay me $12 and get down now!!!"

  Knn..... not my fault also must give discount.......

  I was thinking, what if you've asked for prefer route and pax deny you asking this qns. (like purposely want to play you out). How you deal with them?

  Putting myself in your scenario.

  If i insist going the shortest route via Bukit Batok, argue with the auntie, will i still be complain for nothing?

  You will be in the wrong, whichever way pax want to to go, even if longer, just go. If jam or whatever, they cannot fault you becos they chose to go that way. Complaint? Nothing to complaint....cos u are just following their instruction.

  Example, pax told me to go toa payoh from chinatown, take cte exit moulmein, go towards novena, thomson then pie to toa payoh.... in my heart I laughing, seow eh go long way...... cte straight braddell can liao.....

  Then another time took another pax, go by braddell....kenna stuck in jam almost 20 mins to exit to braddell, then i know, that pax I laughed at was smart.....

  Give them 2 routes to choose from, if they say ANY WAY. Enuff liao.... no case.....

  Another route take note. Evening peak hours if take PIE from AP direction want to go CTE(SLE) please dun gong gong queue. Take TPY exit then turn right Lorong 6 then turn into Bradell then CTE. Longer but faster. Save at least 20 mins...

  Yo member ..... actually can sarcastically offer the trip free ..... tell pax u can afford .

  But this lesson is not free ..... pay to learn . And it is a very valuable lesson . 

  Just like play mahjong , lose money and learn .

  Ok i always use the same method on such passengers .

  " How much it's the right price ? $1 less ? $2 less ? Or i can even give u a free trip , if u think u deserve it free . I can give cos i can afford , if giving you a free trip , u can grow fat , by all means , it's free for u ."

  Usually it's women who give taxi drivers lots of problems , esp aged 35 - 50 years of age women ..... men will never do that .

  if u love to add : " if giving this trip free , u can grow fat , to the already a fat person , by all means take it to grow fatter , taxi fare how much nia ? This fare dun make me a millionaire , if this fare can make u a millioanire , by all means , take it , it's free ."

  Among the worst passengers i personally encounter ......

  Women paxes are rated among the worst .

  Esp those mahjong kakis type of aunties , staying in terrace house type , husband many days never go back home type ...... too rich type also another problem child .

  Now with influx of foreigners , ang mor aunties also one kind liao , but not many , still got , worst one i encounter was from Under Mango tree that chicken club , one ang mor widow i think, from AussieLand , fuck type sia ..... stayed in Caribbean , knnbccb phui ang mor .

  Mai kan chiong , this can apply to any drivers from any taxi companies .

  Won't get complaint one ....... as long as u are not aggressive , not shouting , it's okay one , as long as u dun hit them , it's okay one , just another casual talk .

  Only thing is ..... sarcastic .

  Sarcastic in taxi driving , it's never a crime , or infringement of any rules and regulations .

  But shout , quarrel , aggression is no good .

  if ur driving comfort/citicab there is a label u can take fr their office and pastei it in ur taxi.somthing like it's an offence not to pay fare.go jail and fine

  Be careful when you take a Jew in your taxi. They are nasty and seriously rotten. Got bad experience from AP to Joo Chiat until he want to call Police. But before Police come I send them to where they want to go and then fuck off from there.

  when there is a route dispute, let your Taxi Coy handle it

  what i usually say is "i travel to the best of my knowledge, it is best to have a third party to verify if i am using any longer route, call this number. We will refund you the difference if your claim is truth."

  So, let the pax verify with your company, if company want to to refund, refund lor...... just don't handle this kind of dispute by yourselves, talk until got mouth no saliva, also no conclusion one.

  The West is becoming poorer.

  More westerners coming in now earn much lesser and will try cut corner once they realise SG very expensive.

  The french are one of the big culprits but more and more westerners realise their expat pay is buying lesser and lesser stuff in SG.

  So get prepared for more smelly ones.

  Experienced. Drive more learn more. Every screw up hits the td pocket so you'll learn fast or drown.
