LTA rolls out Choa Chu Kang-CBD bus service

It will start operating on 18 March.

A new SMRT parallel service – Service 982E – that connects the Choa Chu Kang neighbourhoods to the Central Business District (CBD) will begin operations from Monday, 18 March 2013.

This is the eighth bus service to be rolled out under the Land Transport Authority’s Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).

The new service will provide greater connectivity for Choa Chu Kang residents travelling to and from areas in the CBD during weekday morning and evening peak-hours (excluding public holidays).

Parallel Service 982E will operate two one-way trips on weekday mornings at 7.40 am and 7.50 am from Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4, Choa Chu Kang Way, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1 and Teck Whye Avenue to areas within the CBD such as Anson Road, Robinson Road and Marina Boulevard.

On weekday evenings, two one-way trips at 6.15 pm and 6.30 pm will connect commuters from areas such as Central Boulevard and Shenton Way to the Choa Chu Kang neighbourhoods.

Currently already got those private bus operator........

express bus to town, BB and CCK, various pick up point........

plus public bus, good lor, sent those "quality" pax to town lor........

Every TDs said Circle Line (MRT) will affects the businesses.... but the population of taxis are still growing gradually.

hence, if passenger wants to take taxi, he/she will still take taxi regardless if there is a MRT station near their residence.

If commuters are in a rush...U think they will still take buses ? I doubt so.

if u get a pax (from CCK) to AP....

u still want to go back to CCK to fetch another pax ?

MRT is already there to transport commuters to town everyday.....

If worry about this and worry about that......

better stay in police station (very safe, no need to be afriad of)....

To be honest .... Day shift affected only .

Night shift wise , for us ..... unchange , CCK very hard to get paxes at night one .

Even if have , after 6pm type , quality wise , suspected .

Lot 1 to Teck Whye ..... Lot 1 to Bukit Panjang , CCK to Woodlands , CCK to IMM , CCK to Causeway type ..... waste time one , this is what i call no quality . Got sent to Hollan more like it

U want CCK to Boat Quay ? Tan Ku Ku , even if got , it's once in a blue moon thing .

Cos i start work from CCK almost 10 years liao .

Not really lah ..... given to me , morning wise , if given 2 choices ........

Pax A to Woodlands

Pax B to Shenton Way ................ sorry i will opt for Pax A , not Shenton Way .

Shenton Way paxes take bus , it's good thing .

So if i drive day , chance of getting a pax to Shenton , it's as good as zero .

For the last 6-7 years , it's been my habit to start work from Tuas , first job from Tuas , not from CCK .

Cos i hate to interview , if i lazy to go Tuas , i go in for interview purposes @ CCK , yes i will start from CCK , or judge customers before i stop .

For many , cck see got pax happy like fuck .... go Woodlands also happy .

Not me , once i interview liao , if want to go Woodlands , i forgo , forgo will be more lucrative for me . Take sure die one trip , i forgo .

I say a few years ago ....

MRT and Buses will never posed a serious threat to taxis .

Taxi has got their own customers base one .

Singapore 5.08m people ...... buses and MRT can grap 90% of it , i dun care .

I just need 10% of them taking taxis , and that's a cool 500,000 if i am not wrong .

500,000 vs 28,000 taxi ......

Ratio ?

17 people to 1 taxi .

Taxi where got enough ?

Yes, I was referring to early morning pax in CCK. In morning getting pax from CCK to Shenton Way better than CCK to Tuas. In evening the new bus service will not affect business. Anyway, it is only 2 service in the morning. One at 7.40am and other one at 7.50am.

SBS got alot of premium bus services 5xx from most HDB estates to the city in the morning peak. All bus route will use expressway.

but i still see pax lining up & wait for cabs.

example service 550 ply from sengkang to the city thru cte

but every morning i see pax cry for taxi at sengkang

Cck & bt panjang same with sengkang,not enough taxis in the morning.

so this service will help to ease abit lah

taxi obk bcos of this? I really don't think so
