Fight or not - Robbery

sorry to have to say this, but poolman, hammer and the rest of the gung ho crowd.
- you are wrong, retaliate and fight back at totally your own risk, its not the right thing to do
- you tell people to retaliate and fight back, one day some day, one of our bros gonna get robbed and he really gonna retaliate and try to sudue robber. if something serious happen, lose of life, permanent injury etc they gonna say wah taxi forum say retaliate one. haha i know this is akin to listening to your friends talk cock while drinking beer at coffeeshop, but still.
now what i think we should advocate is prevention and other safety measures, not carry weapons in taxi.

i dun feel like a coward, during robbery i was very angry, only it happen so fast to be honest i didnt get a chance to do anything except say a prayer under my breath.
but i think most impt is i share here, let others know what happen and most importantly, so people know what to do in case of robbery, and take precautions!
and of course learn from others, like what you said, about those desperate people, this never crossed my mind before

what i dont want is after sharing my experience, some other forum bro go equip themselves with rusty screw drivers and get hurt by fighting with robbers!

bro, a screwdriver kept at my door pocket r meant to tighten any screws if needed lah, but if safety is compromised, it can come in handy as a self defense tool lah...

I always make it a point to bank in money and only keep small change on me.....So the most I have on me is only around $100......
Better to be safe than sorry......
Also, I have already bought a in car cam like cyben to take on the road and in car video.... after the last time kenna run fare, a bit tulan liao......

same thing after reading this post am looking to invest in a cam for the vehicle too. shiongz so many things to invest. think pool said those things to deter ppl from seeing taxi drivers as easy target. i know a taxi driver who practiced akkido for many many years. old td now. but i bet he can destroy a wrist when he touches it. robbers out there dont mess with the old tds :P younger tds love to repair cars and carpentry work for a hobby. will keep beloved spanner, screw drivers or some mallet and hammer. will bank in money often like eurocab says. robbing someone with a deadly weapon for jus 100+- is not worth it.

Don think sharp objects are good defensive weapon.. you don wan to be accused of assault or end up killing the robber instead and hv taking another life on your conscience... I wud think somthin big can use to block is better like the tyre repr rod (mentioned by chief) or a good sized spanner... I was going to buy a car camera but co announced going to install free one so waiting for my turn lor..
