M'sia Govt to issue 1k individual licences for taxi drivers

PUTRAJAYA: Taxi drivers will enjoy more benefits from the Government as it rolls out its promise to issue 1,000 individual licences.
Apart from being able to operate on their own, the Yayasan Rakyat 1Malaysia (YR1M) will issue a RM5,000 grant to each individual licence holder to buy a brand new Proton Exora said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"For every taxi driver given an individual licence, I think we should make it compulsory that they buy an Exora through Yayasan Rakyat 1Malaysia, who will give a RM5,000 grant per vehicle.
"This means the price will go down from RM64,000 to RM59,000," he said at a Janji Ditepati programme at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) where he presented the first batch of 200 individual licences here on Sunday

I ever said before this Exora is a good vehicle to be a taxi . Just looked at that ! The boot space . It should be very popular in Airport . If Malaysia can use this as taxis , i dun see why we must insist on Korean and Japanese brands in Singapore .

Just got back today, Macau taxis now got the new Ford Mondeo TDi, Renault Latitude and Toyota Camry Diesel..... Harlow, SG TAXI COMPANIES, CAN THINK OUT OF THE BOX AND LOOK AT THESE MODELS AS WELL?????
Sat the Ford Mondeo today, quite spacious and powerful.....

Proton Exora , Made-in-Malaysia .

Just like Skoda Silver Arrow , from head to toes , u'll never see the brand Skoda Octavia brand sticking out of the taxi .
Same to Exora , u dun need to advertise for them for the brand proton .
Just replace it with something else .
