Very Unfair to the cleaners

Government has outsourced the cleaning to lower their cost. The contractors want to make profits, so they pay low wage to the cleaners who have little bargaining power. When the contracts expired, the government called for new tenders and choose the lowest cost tenders. These contractors who have placed the lowest cost tenders will want to make profits too and so they pay even lower wage to the cleaners. The government officials Key Performance Indicators will be excellent by lowering the cleaning cost years by years, contractors still make their profits by using their so called legal and illegal "cost lowering measures" and the cleaners keep getting lower and lower wages and these cleaners are being exploited by the employers / contractors.
Do the government know about the plights of these cleaners ?
Or the government decides to keep one eye opened one eye closed or even both eyes closed ?

Most stat board offices in singapore have contract cleaning services that contract non singaporean staff.

usually the client doesn't involve....it is the cleaning companies that administer such matters....
but when u ask the cleaning companies...they will tell you that they got LD from the client...so they push it down to the cleaners...
the way i see it.....we need a lot more CARE ECONOMICS

ultimately, whenever bidding for contracts occur, the cleaners are the one who suffer.
Normally firms who won the bid, keep exhisting cleaners, give them new uniforms and since, it's bidding normally it will be lower than the exhisting bid, thus cleaners will earn lesser of what's already a very minimum amount

Govt knows everything about this.
It just they keep quiet and low skill workers suffer especially the elders pple. Unable to work due to low salary, unable to sustain the cost of living.

Thats why we got people like Dr Vivian, but apparently, he's been pretty low key after the YOG, if anyone noticed.

It's all govt fault actually.For going to bidding and lowest big gets the contract.
What the f(*k is this.
The possible solution:
1) Lowest bid but set a compulsory min wage for the workers.
2) Scarpe the bidding process and impose compulsory min wage for the workers.

Government never truly understand the plight of cleaners although most of the cleaners are happy with their lives due to their humble beginning and personality. I believe the government knows about it and will gradually take over and support the cleaning profession. Most of the learned and educated people seemed wanted to enjoy life on a higher pay scale. Unfortunately, the circulated cash is scarced, and the calculated cash dividend to the lower income are saved into the reserve coffer
