Actually hor, this entire 'green' industry is potentially profitable.
Forces over companies that emit pollutants in invest in technology to reduce pollution. This helps the economy(because these companies have to pump in $$$) and also helps the environment.
But I see the gahmen not going this path... They would claim there are more profitable(?!) industries that Singapore should go into.

So much potential(economic wise) is lost by the PAP alone.
Singapore is known for good quality is a lot of products that are manufactured here.
But there is no one product and one industry that Singapore specialises in.
Jack of all trades master of none.
What an economic waste.
Walao, like this already more pro business how to live?

Where would be the point where you define yourself as having money?
Green doesn't mean global warming alone.
"Where would be the point where you define yourself as having money?"
When you find health important.

Pro business as in direct business opportunities, passing the buck directly to the hands of the people and enhance our quality of life, NOT INTO THAT DAMNED GIC/TEMASEK~!

Not really answers i can accept.
I find health important but by social standards i'm probably lower middle class.
I can agree on green doesn't mean global warming alone but the fundamental idea of green is to consume less. Considering the reasons i've heard for more opposition is to be able to consume more, i find it very difficult to accept a green party being a possible reality.

As said earlier we can be successfully green as we are a small and compact city.
We can showcase our expertise and that is a huge market to tap into.
